A/N: Once again, thanks so much for the reviews on Home and Responsibility. It's really great to know that people enjoy these. I've decided to create a "series," more or less, of these one-shots, each with the major characters reflecting on the CaspianSusan relationship. I hope you enjoy the most recent addition!

Hope

She watches her older sister stare out the window. She knows the elder is caught up in a daydream again. A dream of what might have been.

Perhaps, the younger thinks in spite of herself, what should have been. Perhaps it would have been best if her sister had been able to stay. The young one knew little about love, but in all her fairy tales, there was always a happily ever after for the prince and princess. Why should it be different for the King and Queen?

She thinks of him a lot, and it makes the young one wonder. Why dwell on him when she can't ever go back? Aslan said so. He wouldn't change his mind, would he?

What was she thinking? There was always hope. Always. That was something Aslan had taught her.

Perhaps her sister knows it, too. Maybe that's why she dreams. Maybe that's why, this time, Susan still wants to remember. Maybe her love for Caspian makes her have hope.

So, Lucy will remain hopeful. Not just for herself, but for her sister as well.

As the saying goes, even in your darkest hour, there still is hope.
