Burning—he was burning until he felt bone dry. But where there ought to be seared skin there was wet, something wet and warm.

Searing—he felt as though his throat was seared shut but it was

Gaping—gaping open and there was wetness flowing from it when it ought to be dry.

Air—he needed air and it was whispering all around him but he couldn't take it in. He was choking and sobbing for air and Achilles but he could hardly speak and the wet was burning him where the searing pain had been and Hector was above him and the shades were all around him and he was dead.
