In Which Roles Are Reversed
That kiss. That kiss that was so gut-wrenching yet so intense, so full of feeling, so full of pain, and so full of lust. Kurt didn't know what to make of it; it came completely out of nowhere…What does this mean? Is Karofsky gay? Bi? Oh no…does he like ME? Kurt, don't be silly, this is your bully you're talking about...He hates me. And I hate him, Kurt thought to himself.
But he couldn't deny it, although he pushed Dave away once he got his thoughts together, that kiss was hot. It was what made Kurt realize that maybe there was more to Karofsky than met the eye and opened the possibility of him not being such a bad guy. Kurt knew this was ridiculous and was determined to get it off of his mind. Kurt looked around the locker room and found it empty, remembering that Karofsky had stormed out in fury and possibly embarrassment of being rejected.
He considered calling Mercedes who always had the best advice but decided against it. He needed to talk to someone who would understand. Quite coincidentally, he had met Blaine earlier in the week whose advice was just a wise and well-meant. They settled on cornering him during lunch to try to talk to him and explain that there's nothing wrong with being gay.
"Excuse Me." Blaine said politely as Karofsky's hulking figure walked down the stairs.
"Hey lady-boys," responded Karofsky, "This your boyfriend, Kurt?"
"Kurt and I would like to talk to you about something," replied the dark-haired boy, completely unfazed by Karofsky's homophobic remark while Kurt just stood there.
"I gotta get to class." Dave mumbled as he attempted to walk away but slowly turned around once he heard the words he'd been fearing since the incident in the locker room.
"Kurt told me what you did."
He was sure of it; his life was going to start crumbling down around him just because some fag and his boyfriend tried to spread their disease. He was sure the football team would hunt him down before the last bell of the day, beating him all while his parents spat at him in disgust and completely disowned him. He couldn't stand to think of losing his friends, reputation, and life as he knew it. But he also knew he couldn't reveal how afraid he was to Blaine and Kurt.
Keeping his façade, he ever so wittily responded, "Oh yeah? What's that?"
Kurt finally stepped up from Blaine's shadow and took a stand. "You kissed me," he accused.
"Pfsh..I don't know what you're talking about," said Karofsky, looking around and making sure no one stopped to watch the unraveling intervention. It was too soon to be ou—no! He was not a fairy. Dave loved football, hockey, video games, and gory zombie movies, not tea parties and dress up. He was 100% MAN.
Blaine tried to reassure him of his current situation, "It seems like you might be a little confused...And that's totally normal, this is a very hard thing to come to terms with." What an understatement, Karofsky scoffed to himself.
"And you should just know that you're not alone." He continued when all of a sudden, Karofsky growled "You do NOT mess with me!" as he angrily pushed Blaine to the wall.
"You have to stop this!" cried Kurt as he tried with all his might to pull Karofsky off of the Dalton boy.
David looked back at Kurt one last time with fear in his eyes before running off to class leaving Kurt and Blaine just standing there in silence.
"Well he's not coming out anytime soon."
Kurt didn't know how to feel about that day's turn of events, but then again, he still didn't know how he truly felt about his first kiss either.
