Looking in the mirror, the tall blonde girl flipped the curls of her hair over her shoulder. Sunlight poured through the nearby window and caused her hair to sparkle, she smiled as she tied her lucky pink ribbon around her wrist. She'd usually have tied it around her waist but the ever growing baby bump that stood out against her slender frame had finally out-grown the ribbons length. Her long flowing dress had been altered time and time again to allow room for her surprisingly large belly, sometimes she wondered if it was twins.
Looking up into the mirror was a strange sight, her face was lightly covered by make-up, not something she usually wore, her eyes were dramatically framed by eye-liner and mascara and her lips were sparkly and baby pink. Smiling, she was finally happy with her fancy little get-up and she wandered to the window, wondering when her friends would return with the very important poem she had written.
"You're looking beautiful" said a familiar voice behind her.
"Arnold!" Helga gasped, "You're not supposed to see the bride before the wedding!"
"Couldn't help myself" He grinned.
Arnold took his bride-to-be in his arms, she looked like some sort of angel, he smiled as he looked down at the bump in her stomach. Arnold had been surprised when Helga had insisted on this as their wedding date, "You'll be seven months pregnant" he had said "Are you sure?". How silly of him, of course she was sure, Helga was never unsure, she'd insisted it was important to her - exactly 20 years since their first day of pre-school, she had said. Arnold never managed to convince her to tell him WHY the first day of pre-school was important, but it didn't matter.
Helga was always a bit of a mystery, he liked that, it kept him on his toes.
