Klaus looked down at his hands, and saw that they were in fact, trembling. He was preparing to meet the Quagmires for the first time since they left in the hot air balloon. In particular he was preparing to meet Isadora again. What would she think of him? What had she ever thought of him? Had he changed while she was up there in the sky?
Now that she's back in the
atmosphere
I'm afraid that she might think of me as plain ol'
jane
Told a story about a man who is too afraid to fly so he never
did land
He wondered if he looked different then when she had left. Did she look different? Probably… Klaus had read that girls his age grow faster then the boys. Would she be taller then him now? They used to be the same height.
More importantly… had she missed him? Cause he had missed her more than he could ever express in words. And Klaus was very good with words, too, and he couldn't even express the magnitude with which he missed her. It had almost equaled the way he missed his parents, but not quite. Because he knew, that Isadora was not dead as his parents were. She would come back one day. And today was that day.
She acts like summer and walks like
rain
Reminds me that there's time to change, hey, hey
Klaus hoped that once Isadora was back that she would never have to leave again. But he knew that wasn't possible. They would, of course, be separated at some times. But he hoped that they would never be separated with such a final barrier as the hot air balloon had been. A separation, that soon, he thought might make him go insane if he didn't see her soon.
Tell me did the wind sweep you off
your feet?
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light
of day?
And head back toward the milky way?
Klaus jumped when he felt the first rain drop hit his trembling hands. He hadn't been expecting it. At first he tried to run and find some place that he wouldn't be drenched, but eventually he found that there was no where to go. He sat back down on the bench, and let the rain fall down on his unprotected head.
He sat like that for a good twenty minutes, and he was starting to shiver when he looked up and saw a car pulling up to the curb. The car wasn't very nice, but it looked comfortable at least. Warm. If he were the person in the car, he wouldn't get out.
But Isadora did.
She jumped out of the car and ran to him.
Now that she's back in the
atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in her hair, hey, hey
She acts
like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there's time to
change, hey, hey
Since the return from her stay on the moon
She
listens like spring and she talks like June, hey, hey
He stood sort of unemotionally stiff.
He didn't know what to do. He just stared at her while she wrapped
her arms around his neck. Obviously she wasn't as nervous as he
was. As she wrapped her arms around his neck, he wasn't nervous
anymore. He melted away in her arms.
Tell me, did you fall for a
shooting star?
One without a permanent scar
And did you miss me
while you were looking at yourself out there
"You haven't changed a bit." She whispered in his ear.
"Neither have you." He whispered in hers.
And Klaus knew that no matter
how much he changed, or she changed, the one thing that would never
change was their love for each other.
