To think it would end like this...
Aichi let out a ginger sigh as he carried Kai to the throne, his small arms barely able to manage to lift him and place him in the redesigned throne.
He was recently defeated by Kai, and was freed from the torturous captive of Link Joker, the power that ate at him every second of his life, giving him no time to rest.
They could have gotten out of the wrecked palace, go back to Earth, and live life happily. Together.
But, that wasn't the case.
Aichi gnashed his teeth angrily. It was all Link Joker's fault. The seed was now stuck in Kai, and they had to do the same process all over again.
Aichi pushed the sleeping Kai back on the throne tenderly, looking down at him. Kai was wearing a white coat that bore many buttons, beige pants and black leather boots. He looked like a prince.
That was about to suffer for a lifetime.
Aichi gently placed his own gloved hand on Kai's face. He couldn't feel it, but he knew Kai's face would feel icy cold and lifeless. He gently brushed away the hanging brown bangs that covered his sealed lids, and he could barely feel Kai's breath rolling on his wrist.
Aichi frowned, leaning forward and gently pressed his lips on his cheek, trying to comfort Kai. It wasn't showing on his dormant face, but he knew that inside, he was suffering, trying to reach help, reach his mates, reach for the light that was once his happy life with Aichi. The bluenet could feel Kai's broken heartbeats through his lips.
Aichi's blue orbs traveled to look down at the new floor mournfully, a barely breathing story slumbering in front of him.
For the last time, Aichi pressed his gloved hand on Kai's cheek and hummed him a short, quiet lullaby, the sad tune echoing in the crisp palace halls, a small song that seemed like a symphony that could describe millions of crusades.
He walked away, making sure to keep his footsteps quiet and reserved, treading steadily to the seals. Gaillard, Neve, and Rati also awaited there, waiting for him to help them set up the force field.
All four places their hands on the smooth face of the pillars, the vanguard circles under their palms glowing faintly as the force field was set up, lightning snaking around an invisible wall.
"To think I would end up having to protect the person I hate the most..." Gaillard whispered beside him, his gaze staring blankly at the throne. Aichi stayed silent, but nodded.
Closing his eyes, he turned to walk away, his eyes narrowing sorrowfully, tears pricking his eyes.
You had promised me for a lifetime that you would get me out of here.
But it seems it's the opposite, huh?
No longer caring about keeping his footsteps silent, he steadily walked away as fast as he could, wanting to get away from Kai as far as possible. He couldn't bear to see him like that anymore.
I'm sorry, Kai kun. I am unable to save you.
Aichi bit his lip.
I'm an idiot.
His pace quickened into a run, sprinting down the empty corridors, tears escaping from his hanging blue bangs.
If only... if only if it was like in those fairy tales, when the prince saves the princess...
If only...
If only I was allowed to love you again...
