Chapter 1:
TalonWatch
Why? Why join Talon? No other organization provided the thrill of killing quite like Talon. Blackwatch was more about stealth and missions hiven to them by allies. The only time killing was permitted was during those missions, if something went wrong, which happened very rarely, or if someone betrayed their trust. Talon, on the other hand, was all about assassination. However, after Gerad passed, Talon and Blackwatch had joined forces, Blackwatch becoming more murderous and Talon becoming less so. Amélie didn't quite like the change, having to work with former Overwatch agents had never been something she wanted. Gabe being the leader and Jesse being his right hand. of course they never used their real names. Why give your identity out to the world? To most, Gabe and Jesse didn't exist. They were known as Reaper and Mccree to most everyone. Amélie had also changed her name, agreeing that it should not be released to the world. She was known as Widowmaker. She was not fond of Mcree, but was starting to at least trust Reaper. She had become his"left hand" after some time, second up to his right. She had become accustomed to steath missions, being a sniper, but their next planned mission had completely thrown stealth out as an option. Heading straight to Watchpoint Gibraltar, the heart of Overwatch. It would've been easy had it not been for the fact that the point was constantly monitored by their sentient security system, Athena. Hoing in without a plan would be complete suicide, so they took their time to plan out every detail and work out every scenario. Overwatch had taken great caution to make sure that Reaper and Widow were in the system, after the attack on Gibraltar and Mondayta's murder. Mccree was in the system as well, but as an ally and remembrance and not as an enemy. Everyone thought he died along with the few others that they had lost. Few still had hope that he was still alive. After finding Ana, that hope grew. Most had completely given up before they found her. The few that had hope, had little. Fareeha, on the other hand, refusedto think he was dead. He was a brother to her and his death would hurt her more than anyone's had. The team would occasionally check Athena's blindspots hoping to find allies, or Jesse, but they only ever found lost boaters form the mainland and the occasional omnic with them. No soldiers, no allies, and no Jesse.
While Talon and Blackwatch had ageeed to send Mccree in as a spy, not everyone agreed. Widowmaker was skeptical about Mccree's loyalty. She thought he would betray them. She had no say, however, because everyone one else agreed and Reaper called the shots. They were to send Mccree in to find their weak spot, and maybe even sabotage the security. Ignoring Widow's insistent protests, Reaper decided to send him in with nothing but the clothes on his back, PeaceKeeper, and an ear piece for communication. He trusted him, so much so that he didn't think he needed a way to track him, or his progress, other than his word. Mccree swore to carry out the mission as planned, with no mistakes or interruptions. Perhaps, Widowmaker was right to doubt him. Only time would tell.
