A Not So Perfectly Set Out Life
Chapter 1 Adoption
To many, his life seemed like something easy. He already knew what he was going to be when he was older; who he was going to marry; and what his family, house and future was going to look like. But how he was going to do it was the hard part. The easiest part was getting adopted.
The week after the science fair, Mildred got a call from Dr. Krecklehorn and her husband Bud Robinson.
"Hello?"
"Hi! I'm Lucille Krecklehorn! And me and my husband are interested in adopting Louis!!"
"Really!? That's great! Would you like me to set up an interview?"
"No that's fine, we already met with him and we think he's perfect. You see I work with Inventco Labs and my husband Bud is a science teacher. So as soon as you're able to write up the papers, we're ready to sign!"
"That's wonderful; can you come over this afternoon?"
"Of course!"
"Great! See you then. Bu-Bye now." She hung up the portable phone trying to keep her composer. She was unsuccessful in doing so. She did a quick dance and ran up the stairs to Louis' top floor room. Just outside, she had to stop and calm down. Taking a deep breath she composed herself she entered the room. Louis was currently working on paper work to change his name to Cornelius. Yesterday he had a weird epiphany of some sort and decided to have his name changed to Cornelius.
"Louis! Great news! We've found a couple who wants to adopt you! Isn't it great?' He seemed slightly unsurprised, as if he already knew. But still he was extremely happy.
"Really!! That's great! Who is it! The Robinsons?!" She gave him a quick nod "Wahoo!!" He ran out of the room.
"Wait Louis! They'll be here this afternoon, so be back here by lunch!"
"Okay Mildred," he called over his shoulder as he ran down the steps and out the orphanage.
