This was written for scubarang's New Year's Resolution drabble challenge at The DG Forum.

The requirements are: must be D/G,maximum word count is 250, must have either Draco or Ginny making or breaking a New Year resolution, can be any era, any genre. I will admit that I might have stretched the parameters slightly, but the word count is exactly 250.

Don't forget to review.

I will be a better husband.

She didn't ask him where he'd been last night.

He gazed silently at her across the breakfast table, watching as she daintily added sugar to her coffee, then stirred the hot liquid so gently that the spoon barely clinked against the china.

She didn't ask who he'd kissed at midnight.

He took a bite of toast and wished that she'd fly off and yell, or plot revenge, or guilt him into diamonds and a month in Italy. Her eyes flicked up to his as she reached for a winter orange, and he caught a glimmer of quiet, steady pain before he looked down at his own plate.

She didn't ask him why he was such a bastard.

Ending this would be so easy. He wouldn't have to say much. He could certainly afford the alimony, and she'd only have to watch him turn his back one more time.

She didn't ask him to be a better man.

Her shoulders slumped just slightly, as if the pale January sunlight that graced them was a heavy burden. He remembered falling in love with her sweet vulnerability years ago. Now it just made him feel sick.

"Astoria, I…"

Her eyes flew to his, the blue lit vibrantly with hope. She dropped her orange and reached out, slipping her small, brave hand into his.

Relief he hadn't known he needed flooded over shame of a higher degree than he had felt.

I will end things with Ginny.
