Chapter 1: The Battle Begins

D-Day 5.6.1944

What a nice night it is.

"Before I drop into Normandy. With my men, I had a feeling that Fate had a dark sense of humor." The sergeant thought to himself. His name is Sergeant Michael Ender. Ender looks up to see his men. Some smoking some cigarettes, some hoping to make it of the plane...alive. Either way their all scared.

The pilot was looking at his map. "Are we in the right area? I mean no Germans, no flak coming out?" He asked. "Well...hmm... that's hard to explain...maybe." The other pilot said. "This is Grand Company...be prepared...WAIT! THE FLAK! GAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" "Hello!?! Grand Company! Do you read!! Hello!" The pilot responded. "LOOK!" The 2nd pilot yelled. They both turned to the left and saw Grand Company's plane go up in flames. "Oh man! Hit the red light!" The 2nd pilot yelled.

Ender looked up to see the red light go up, with no to spare time he got up. "GET READY!" He ordered. The men got ready. "STAND UP!" He ordered. All the men got up and await next command. "Hooks on rail!" He said, "Check the parachutes!" The men started checking each on. "10 ok, 9 ok, 8 ok, 7 ok, 6 ok, 5, ok, 4, ok, 3 ok, 2 ok, 1..." Ender now waited for the last one. "Sir, 1 is not OK!" The soldier said. "Fix it!" He yelled.

"What's taking them so long?" The pilot wondered, "Why won't they radio?"

"If you don't hurry up, we'll all die!" Ender yelled. "Ok...just hang...on...a...1 is now ok!" The soldier said. Ender reached for the radio. "Angle Company is ready! Flip it to green!"

"Alright! I am flipping the green light now." The pilot responded.

The light was now green. "GO! GO! GO!" Ender barked. He jumped out hoping to make it ground. He found 5 of his men. The others were killed when the plane went on fire. "Now..." He said to himself, "We all we need to do survive this battle..."
