It had been over a week since he had been down in hell. Fighting off whatever devil or demon was thrown at him with the slightest of ease. While he was down there, he couldn't help but reminisce of the old days when he had partners.
He remembered Mary. Or should he say Lady. She was the first person to work with Dante, as well as his first real girlfriend. Time passed and they realized that they were better off as friends. After that he continued to do business and be swamped in debt. As the years passed and him getting a new trench coat, Dante gets the gig of a lifetime.
Finding the bastard that killed his parents and made him along with Vergil. The journey to kill him was painful for his body and his emotions. Finding his elder twin possessed and having to kill him. Being betrayed by the woman who shares his mother's looks and nearly killed has taken its toll on him. Seeing Trish take a shot for Dante filled him with a white hot burning rage. He saw his mother killed by demons sent by Mundus. Now he saw someone with her face killed by this monster. Sealing him away gave him and Trish enough time to escape Mallet Island.
More time has passed and he still keeps in contact with both Trish and Lady. During the time, Dante had an evident change done to him. His ever growing peach buzz and him bulking up being evident of him getting stronger and not caring about the look. When Lady come in she offered him a job to another island.
The only difference is that this one included family. Not only his father, but also his brother. Finding his supposed nephew brought a warm feeling in his body. A feeling that he hadn't felt in years. With the determination to face anything the 'Savior' he went out of his way to stop him and save not only the island, but also his remaining family. After the ordeal was dealt with, he returned home and to his business.
As time passed, he saw that Lady was getting older, slower. She couldn't keep up with Dante nor Trish. While out on a mission to clear out a ghost town, Lady got a lethal strike from a Plasma. Seeing Lady in that state, it sent Dante over the edge and acted on pure rage to slay the remaining demons. When the dust settled and the demons killed, Dante couldn't help but cry and let out a scream that would scare off any demons.
Her death hit everyone hard. Trish couldn't help but feel like her death was affecting Dante the most. Nero came by to give his regards and to see how the old man was holding up. Dante wasn't holding up well. He hardly eats, lost a lot of weight and was looking pale. His eyes, +distant and lifeless. The only thing that kept Dante from ending his life is the hate of demons.
The years also had him drift away from everyone else he knew. Trish, Patty, Morrison and his nephew Nero. Dante thought it was best and cause of the damage Rebellion took, the once proud demonic claymore is now thinner than it was suppose to be. He gave up on getting back to shape and just left with an old yet fashionable trench coat.(*) The mission was simple and involved a new woman.
Dante would not get emotionally involved with her. He repeatedly told himself that he would not do so. Finding Lucia would have to be the changing point in his life. It gave him hope, filled him with determination to slay the devil that would try to take over. It was when he put a bullet through his head that he realized that people come and they unfortunately go. Yet it's the time that's spent that makes it worthwhile.
Even after going to hell and killing Argosax and the despaired embody that he would make his time with Lucia the best he could. After he kills these bastard demons that is.
