The prompt was, "degrees." I don't own NCIS.
"It's the six degrees of Kevin Bacon."
"Kevin Bacon?" she asked, looking at him, confused.
"Ren. In Footloose. The movie that we are watching now. Kevin Bacon plays Ren," he replied, still watching the movie.
"And what is this six degrees of Kevin Bacon that you are talking about?" she questioned, still confused.
"It is a game. You try to see how far away from him other actors are."
"I do not understand, Tony. What is the point of that game?"
The senior field agent sighed and paused the movie before turning on the couch to look at her. "Ziva, the six degrees of Kevin Bacon is based off of the six degrees of separation," DiNozzo said.
"Well, what is this six degrees of separation?"
Tony sighed and and was silent for a moment thinking. "The six degrees of separation is where…" he trailed off and looked around the room.
Finally, a thought struck him. "McGee went to MIT, right?" he said, looking back at Ziva.
She stared at him, confused, before nodding. "Yes, he did. But what does that have to do with-"
"So, since McGee went to MIT, he obviously knows some hotshots," Tony interrupted.
"Your point, Tony?"
"Those hotshots probably know the president. So, through the six degrees of separation, McGee would know the president. Since we know McGee, then we would know the president through this theory," he explained.
Ziva rolled her eyes and grabbed the remote off of the table. She started the movie again and then moved closer to Tony on the couch. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and she smiled to herself before resting her head on his shoulder.
Kissing the top of her head, DiNozzo smiled to himself and held her closer. Their movie night could sometimes be educational.
