Sparks Fly. What happens when two headstrong shinobi meet unexpectedly? Sparks fly of course. An explosive meeting in just over 500 words.

The sound of a kunai hitting a solid wooden post had Tenten pausing from her leap through the tall branches of trees in Training Ground Three. She changed direction and headed towards the clearing from which the sound originated, only to find a pensive looking Uchiha draw back his arm and aim at a post placed nearly 500 meters from the clearing oddly decorated with an odd kunai or two stuck to the board and several littering the floor beneath it.

He threw another kunai. It missed its mark by several meters. She frowned. She didn't like it when people were clumsy with her trade.

The Uchiha brat was definitely being clumsy and that exasperated her to no end. She delicately cleared her throat. He turned around so fast that she thought he probably had whiplash from that action.

"What do you want?" he intoned carelessly.

"Watch that tone, boy" she snarled, drawing her seniority like a quilt around her.

An eyebrow quirked in her direction as he asked "What was so important that you had to interrupt my practice session for,"

With her usual diplomacy she said "Your aim is terrible."

Sasuke's eyes narrowed dangerously as the lines around his mouth deepened and his nostrils flared.

"Do you think you can do better?" he asked, his tone clipped and sardonic. He knew the female mentality. All mindless adoration and ever mounting ridiculousness. It was an established fact that barely half of the female populace made it through the Academy. Only those girls with bloodline limits or intelligence or sheer luck made it through.

Tenten's answering smile was laced with mischief. She drew a kunai and aimed at the wooden post. With a wink at Sasuke, she dropped to the underside of the branch with a standard chakra control exercise and threw the kunai with an overhead throw. It hit bulls eye.

If it had been Sasuke from a few years ago, he would probably have gaped like a fish. But he was not. He reined in his amazement and stoically pronounced the throw 'passable'.

Tenten raised a disdainful brow in his general direction and asked him "If that was passable, I wonder what you would call your shots?"

Sasuke didn't seem to hear her words or her acerbic tone. He slowly walked towards her until he was just a handspan away. He raised his index finger and gently traced the contour of her cheek- from chin to cheekbone.

"I don't believe we've met officially" he said, sounding slightly breathless.

"I don't think so" Tenten replied feeling a bit light headed. From the blood rushing to my head her minded rejoined; beating away the feelings she felt at having a slightly callused finger at her cheek.

His dark eyes never left hers.

"I'm Uchiha Sasuke. Nice to meet you." He said by way of introduction.

"I'm Tenten." She replied, not breaking eye contact.

"Will you teach me how to do that?" he asked softly, tentatively.

"It will take a lot of time" she said as she bit her lip, contemplating.

"We have time. All the time in the world." Came the hypnotic reply.

Fin.

And that was how the "angsty pretty boy" Uchiha first met Tenten.
