A Rainbow of Opportunities Harvest Moon Fanfic

"... H... Hey... WAKE UP!"
Moira shot upright with a scream, prompting Kitsune to jolt up and attempt to run in the opposite direction. Unfortunately for him, he staggered and toppled over onto the crisp golden sand.
"Huh? Sand? Moira, where the f-"
"Language"
"Flap are we?"

Moira shrugged, and then realized that Kitsune couldn't see her shrug (1) so instead she grabbed his hand and pulled him next to her.
'I don't know. Listen to the old man in front of us,' she signed onto his hand. (2)
"I'm sorry sir. My brother was just a bit disorientated from the storm and subsequent crash. However, would you mind telling us where we are?"
The old man in front of them puffed his chest out."My name's Taro and we are on Sunny Islands. Me and my family were washed up here, same as you. We are planning to live here. There's a bunch of old houses up that road."

Moira nodded, pulled herself up and dusted her dark green flared jeans, pale green top and black jacket. She also brushed off Kitsune's clothes which mirrored hers, only in varying shades of blue. Taking tight hold of his calloused hand, she set off walking after Taro.

Kitsune lightly squeezed her hand and smiled at her."We were looking for some place small and quiet, sis. This is about as small and quiet as you get. By the way, baggise the smaller room."Moira chuckled and turned her attention to the uneven road that they were walking on. Having lost her shoes in the ocean (and Kitsune would never wear shoes if he had a say in the matter) she needed to be extra careful, for both their sakes and not just where they were walking. For who knows what might happen to a runaway 23 year old girl and her 16 year old blind (3) brother on an unknown island?
