Hey guys! New story alert! This story is not a Fanfiction to begin with. I just thought to write something new. Its very much related to my personal life as well. Hope you enjoy the story! Its probably going to be my best story~
I opened my eyes. My sight was blur. I could see a white ceiling and a grey ceiling fan turning around. I blinked several times and my sight got better. I turned my head left to right.
Where am I?
"Ariya?" I heard someone calling my name.
Who's this?
A person approached me with a huge smile on their face. "Ariya! You are awake!" They called out.
I couldn't even hear properly nor perfectly see that person.
Who is it?
"Ariya? Can you see me?" The person asked. It was a feminine voice.
"Wh-who is this?" I asked.
"Ariya, its me Vinaya!" The girl said and took my hand in hers.
Vinaya? My best friend..
I blinked twice so as to see her better. "Vinaya?" I spoke softly.
"Oh thank goodness you are alright!" Vinaya spoke up and kissed my left hand.
What? What do you mean?
"Huh?" I asked. "Where-where am I, Vinaya?"
"The hospital. You probably dont remember, you got into a car accident two days ago." Vinaya answered.
"Car accident?" I asked. "Hospital?"
I looked around and yes, it was a ward. I could see a machine to measure the heart beat beside where I was lying. I had a white blanket on me and a needle stuck into my right hand's veins.
"I-I dont remember anything.." I said softly.
"Your brain was badly hurt, that's the reason you dont remember. Doctor said that you probably wouldn't be able to recall many things." Vinaya replied and put her hand on my fore-head.
"My brain?" I said and put my right hand on my head. I could feel a bandage tied around my head.
"Do you want water?" Vinaya asked.
"Yeah.." I answered. I tried to sit up but my backbone pained a lot.
"Come.'' Vinaya said and helped me to sit up by placing a pillow behind my back.
She handed me a glass of water and helped me drink it. I had a bandage around my right elbow as well.
"Was the accident bad?" I asked after drinking the water.
Vinaya kept the glass on the table and sat beside me on the bed.
"It was too bad. Not trying to scare you, but, you were super lucky someone brought you to the hospital soon. Otherwise.." Vinaya said. "Nevermind that now. I am the happiest person on earth right now. I almost thought I lost my bestie.." Vinaya said and hugged me. But not tight enough to hurt me.
"Where are mom and dad?" I asked.
"They are at home right now. They left about an hour ago when I came." Vinaya answered.
"I'm glad I'm alright. I never wanted to die so early." I said with a little giggle.
"Dont say such things, you idiot!" Vinaya shouted. "Do you even know you got all of us worried sick!"
"Sorry.." I said.
"Especially, Arnit was super worried, stupid!" Vinaya said.
Sorry?
"Who?" I asked.
"Hm?" Vinaya asked back.
"Who was super worried?" I repeated myself.
"Arnit." Vinaya answered. "When he got the news of your accident, he came crying to see you. He even hugged you in front of your parents. He can be a bit stupid at times, cant he?" Vinaya smiled and said.
Who is she talking about? Who's Ar-Arnit...?
"Who?" I asked.
"Sorry?" Vinaya asked back.
"Who is-who is Ar-Arnit?" I asked.
Vinaya stood up in great force. "You...you dont remember Arnit?" She asked.
Why is she sweating so much?
"I..I don't.. why? Who is Arnit?" I asked.
"Ariya, ple-please stop joking already." Vinaya said and showed me a fake smile.
Why would I joke? I dont understand what is she talking about? Who is she talking about?
"I ain't joking, Vinaya.." I said. "Why? Who-who is Arnit?" I asked.
Vinaya sat beside me. "He's your... he's your-"
Before she could complete her sentence, the door opened and in came my mom and dad.
"Ariya!" Mom said and ran to me and hugged me tight. "Are you okay, dear?" She asked.
"Yes mom. I'm fine." I replied.
Dad came and sat beside me and patted my head. "Hey, Ariya. Feeling better?"
"Yes daddy." I replied.
I looked at Vinaya who was standing a step away from me. She was still greatly tensed.
Why?
An hour passed. Many of my relatives came to see me. The clock showed 4 p.m. when my mom went home to get me some home-made food. Daddy went with mom. I, my cousin brother Shaun who is a month older than me, and Vinaya, we three were in the ward.
Shaun was talking with me, cracking jokes as he always does. But Vinaya just stood by the window looking out.
"Vinaya." I said.
"Yeah?" Vinaya stepped towards me and asked.
"You were saying something about that guy." I said.
Vinaya looked down.
"What guy?" Shaun asked me.
"Someone named... Ar...what was it?" I asked Vinaya.
Vinaya looked at me and then at Shaun. "Arnit."
"What about him?" Shaun asked Vinaya.
"She doesn't remember him." Vinaya said to Shaun.
"You're joking!" Shaun stood up. He looked at me. "You are, right?"
I was totally confused. "Am I the only one here who doesn't understand anything?" I asked.
Shaun giggled. "Nevermind. Its good you don't remember him."
"Quit the jokes!" Vinaya shouted. She then walked towards me, took my mobile from my hand and opened the gallery. She then handed me the mobile. "Look."
I saw pictures of me with a boy. He seemed like my age. There were pictures of me and him everywhere. We were hugging, holding hands, walking side-by-side and a ton of selfies. I was completely shocked!
"Who is this guy?! What's he doing with me?" I asked Vinaya.
"He's your boyfriend, Ariya!" Vinaya spoke loudly.
What are you talking about!
"You're joking!" I said. "I dont remember this guy one bit!"
Shaun giggled. "That's a great thing, actually. He doesn't deserve you anyhow."
Vinaya looked at Shaun. "Will you stop laughing? You don't like him that doesn't mean you're going to say that to her too."
I was still super duper confused. "Vinaya! Tell me! What's going on?"
Vinaya sat beside me. "I know why you don't remember him. Its because of your brain injury. But, Ariya, you have to recall him! He's your lover!"
Shaun smirked. "Unfortunately."
"Huh?" I asked.
Shaun stepped towards the door. "I'll leave you two ladies now." He went out the room.
"He never liked him." Vinaya said. "Ariya, try to recall something. Anything at all?"
"What am I supposed to recall?" I asked.
"Oh come on. You and Arnit are together for more than a year now. There are a lot, lot of memories of you and him inside your head. Try to recall something." Vinaya said.
"Oho! This guy, whom I don't even know, is my oh so called boyfriend for more than a year, you say?" I giggled.
"Yes, miss!" Vinaya said.
"Let me think." I tried to remember some thing but, nope. "No. I dont remember anything, Vi."
"Ariya! Try to re-" Before Vinaya could complete her sentence, the door slammed open.
"Ariya!" I heard someone shout my name and before I could even understand the situation, I found myself embraced by some guy.
Huhhhhhhh?
"Oh, Ari, I'm so glad you're okay!" That guy said. I could hear soft cries.
He had a heavy but sweet voice. I could feel his warm torso around me. And before I could even think further, that guy let go of the hug and kissed my cheek.
"Thanks for atlast waking up, sweetheart." He said.
Wait, what? Sweetheart?
"You-you are calling me sweetheart?" I asked.
My question did make this guy confused. "Yes ofcourse. Who else would I call that except you?"
"Arnit.." Vinaya said to that guy.
So he's Arnit!
"Yeah?" Arnit asked Vinaya.
"So, you are Arnit!" I spoke up.
He looked at me. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why are you saying that?"
"Vinaya tells me that a guy named Arnit is my boyfriend." I said to him.
"Why? You know me, Ari." He said.
"Well, I dont." I said scraching my head.
He giggled at me. "You're joking."
"That's what I told Vinaya." I replied.
Vinaya looked at Arnit. "She had a bad injury on her brain and she.."
"What?" Arnit asked.
"I don't remember you!" I spoke up. My voice was completely normal, and why wouldn't it be? I really don't know this guy.
Arnit stood up, sweating. I could see his eyes getting moist. "You are joking."
"She's not." Vinaya said looking at me.
I am the only one who is feeling awkward right now.
