AN: So, this is a collection of vingettes of various themes that I used an online random word generator to choose. I originally planned to post all 50 vingettes in one chapter, but I decided to post them by every five themes. They are centered around the Mary/Bert pairing, though some just have both character in them. This is my first Mary Poppins fic, so let me know what you think.

Disclaimer: I wish I owned Mary Poppins. But I don't. So, yeah.

1. Woman

Mary Poppins was a proper woman, anyone would agree. She knew proper etiquette; she could cook, clean, and take care of the children. Many would say she'd make the perfect mother, and raise her daughters to become proper women, and a cycle would repeat itself. But Mary was a nanny, not a mother. But, in Bert's eyes, she was still the perfect woman.

2. Spy

On a sunny Wednesday afternoon, Mary had taken the Banks' children to the park. Of course, as fate would have it, Bert was at the park that day as well. Jane and Michael saw this, and approached him. "What occupation do you have today, Bert?" Jane asked in excitement.

"Well, I'd tell ya," he said with a mischievous grin, "but it's a secret."

"Oh, please tell us!" Michael begged.

"Alright, if ya must know…." he then leaned in and whispered to them "Today, I'se bein' a spy!"

"A spy?" The two squealed in a unison delight.

"Shhhh!" He hushed them, "I'm on a top secret mission! Nobody can know that I'm spy!"

Mary rolled her eyes that the foolishness. "Come Bert, be serious. There's no reason to fill their minds with such nonsense."

"Oh, but it's not nonsense, you see that man over there? He's planning on stealing the hope diamond…"

Mary just rolled her eyes again.

3. Grouping

When looking back on all of her charges, Mary found it helpful to categorize them. There were the ones prone to temper tantrums, the anti-socials who refused to talk, the ones who were prone to gluttony, ect. But every time she'd look back, the Banks' children fell into a category all their own.

4. Defect

As much as she liked to believe she was, Mary Poppins knew that she wasn't practically perfect. After all, practically perfect people never allow sentiment to muddle their thinking. She has said that herself. Usually, she was pretty good at controlling it, allowing herself to push back the feelings until it was long enough and she'd analyze it. But, she had a defect. A flaw. Because every time Bert held her closely, her train of thought became completely derailed.

5. Shot

She tried to tell herself she hadn't meant for it to happen. After all, she was Mary Poppins. She had a reputation to uphold.

She shook her head to be rid of thought, no one was accusing her of doing it on purpose to begin with, so why was she so worried?

She knew why. Deep down, she had planned it. After all, Admiral Boom shot is cannon every hour on the hour. And she had learned at this point which part of the house moved in which direction. And she was the one who had invited Bert over. So when the house shook at noon, she went flying into his arms.
