Sharon was doing her paperwork in their quarters with Hera playing on the floor and a wireless playing in the background. When it started airing the press conference she got up to flick through the stations to find something else to listen to. In doing so, she didn't see Hera's head jerk up and her looking round the room with excitement. She heard her calling "Analor, analor.", and when she turned to see what she was doing, Hera looked up at her and again said "Analor.", almost as if she was asking something. Not seeing anything that would explain what Hera was trying to say, she just smiled and said, "That's right.", before returning to her paperwork. Once that was completed, she joined Hera on the floor for a game.
On a couple of other occasions she heard Hera mumbling what sounded like "Analor" but could never make out what she meant. She figured maybe she was just experimenting with various sounds as she learned more words.
They met up with Kara in the Mess, who had offered to sit with Hera and let Sharon go and fetch some of what passed for food these days. So Kara was sitting with Hera on her lap, when suddenly Hera looked up and around and called "Analor.". Kara looked around but not seeing her, asked "Where is she?". Hera held up her hands, palms upward, and shrugged, this time questioning, "Analor?".
"Sorry baby, she's not here. Your Analor is very busy."'Not to mention the fact that your parents would probably tear her limb from limb if she came near you.'
Looking around the Mess, Starbuck realized what had happened. One of the pilots on the other side had a small wireless and was listening to the day's press conference. She hugged Hera to her, whispering into her hair.
"Oh Sweetie, I'm sorry baby. I'm sure your Analor misses you just as much."
And decided to find some way to let Laura Roslin know how much the little one loved her.
