Chapter One

The oceans a big place. All fish are different. They each have their own story. Fish, like people, have problems, some more diverse and hard to control than others. Schizophrenia - a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior. This may seem a little hard to believe, but fish suffer from this. The most famous, a Pacific Royal Blue Tang, named Dory.

Darkness is all around, but one large Pacific Royal Blue Tang is on his way home, named Balmoral. He wished he was like other fish, go to work, leave their offspring with their wives. Balmoral has a harder decision to make on a daily basis. Does he go to work and earn enough to keep a nice patch of moss for his children to stay and play? Or does he stay and look after the children? Because his wife had been eaten by a shark many years ago he had to leave the responsibility of the children with his eldest daughter - Dory. Dory was able to look after her 9 younger siblings with no problem at all, she would make their everyday struggle a pleasure for her brothers and sisters to experience. Intelligence is where Dory exceeded. Giving her a math problem was no struggle and she made light work of algebra. But Dory, without knowing it, had taken a big risk. On the outskirts of the small neighbourhood in which they lived on the edge, was a large colony of sharks. Blood thirsty sharks roamed all around Dorys home. Hiding in the dark shadows where Dory and her siblings would not dare enter. Luckily their common sense paid off, if they had made one wrong move they would have been snapped up within seconds.

'Bye Dad!' yelled Dory as her father confidently swam off for another day at work.
'Right, Karis, sort out your younger sister, Halia!' the commotion of the Blue Tangs home was unbearable, swoops of Royal Blue coming to and fro from every direction. How Dory kept on top of all the chores and tasks she had to do, I do not know.
Even though the home was inhabited by 11 very busy bodied fish it remained spotless all the time. Tango the 3rd youngest of the 10 loved cleaning and was always clearing up after the second oldest boy Zinc. Zinc didn't realise how much pressure Dory had on her shoulders and that she could have a mental breakdown at any time. He was always making Dorys life harder and the clashing personalities of Dory and Zinc always created an unbearable tension between the family.
'Dory you're so annoying just sit back and relax.' groaned Zinc as he casually swam past Dory, completely oblivious to the fact that she was trying to help the youngest Pia try to swim, even though Balmoral lost his wife in a traumatic experience, he couldn't help but look for another lady to keep him company, a clown fish - named Florence.
'It's Dad's job to keep us all alive, you don't have to worry about anything,' he continued. As Zinc said this, Florence entered the house. Zincs attitude towards Dory changed dramatically. Zinc had a small crush on Florence and wanted to portray his sensitive side to her. Dory always noticed this change and chose to ignore it because she knew it wouldn't progress, she just stayed silent and rolled her eyes as she continued doing her duties.
