My ghost
Where'd you go?
I can't find you in the body sleeping next to me
My ghost
Where'd you go?
What happened to the soul, that you used, to be?
~Ghost, Halsey
He never thought of anyone else. He only though of what he wanted, what he needed. So when she came along, innocently loving him, he used her, and threw her away like trash. He'd always said, he likes experience. But something was different with her. It hurt him to get rid of her. He wasn't used to that.
He woke up that night with a start. He remembered who she was, and all that she meant to him. He'd done his best to bury that under his façade of cruelty and carelessness. But no, not anymore.
She remembered, of course she did. They'd been best friends, closer than siblings. He'd been her first kiss, her first time. And deep down, she loved him. Loved him like her mother used to love her father. She'd thought maybe seeing her would remind him, but he just thought she was another one of the endless girls that fawned over him.
The night he used her, the night before he threw her away, she'd sat up late, watching him sleep. What happened to him? He was no longer the sweet, gorgeous boy she used to know. He was cold and jaded, and yes, still gorgeous, but it was a hard kind of beautiful. She could no longer see the boy she used to know in the man sleeping next to her.
The day after he remembered, he ran to her favourite coffee shop, hoping to see her before work. She was there, so he went up to her. She looked surprised to see him, and he felt bad. He admitted everything to her, everything that he had admitted to himself the night before. He remembered her, eh loved her, he was sorry he left her, he was sorry he hurt her. She laughed in her beautiful musical way." I thought there wasn't any of you left," she whispered. "The night...the night we were together, I couldn't find you. I thought you were gone." He smiled ruefully. "I was. Until I saw you."
Well, here's shit story for y'all. I thought it started out well, but then it kind of fell to pieces. I started out with an idea in my head...I guess it's just one of those visions that can't be shown to others.
Also, I'm 100% Halsey trash. Just so you know.
Love you guys!
Blaze
