Literally typed on a long ass bus ride after this idea popped into my head during my humanities mid years where i had to write 13 paragraphs in 90 minutes. lol. I am actually shit at writing despite what my subject combi says, and I'm too lazy to do this on a computer. So, enjoy!

Disclaimer: I definitely don't own Aoki Hagane, if I did Kongou would be the main character cuz she's bae

A look into Kongou's chaotic mind.

She neared Iwo Jima, heels clicking against her nano field that was making it possible for her to walk on water. She felt nothing, no excitement, no surge of adrenaline, no hint of hesitation, as each step brought her close to the enemy's hideout. An overly cheerful, though sometimes annoying, mental model was skipping across the ocean, happily singing about carnivals and coaxing the first mental model to hurry up.

The first mental model was the most loyal ship in the fleet of Fog, every action of hers was following orders that was sent to her in the name of the Admiralty Code, that's how she rose to her current status, the flagship of the most elite division of the Fog, commonly known as the Black Fleet by both humans and the Fog alike, by gaining the trust from the higher ups of the fleet. They revered her, treating her like a god that only accepted divine treatment. Some members of the Fog, not in her fleet of course, called her the god of calamity because a trail of death and destruction was left in her wake no matter where she set foot.

No, she is not evil in any sense of the word, all she does is carry out orders unquestioning, never once wavering and wondering why. Indeed, her blind loyalty is unnerving to every other ship, human or any sentient being. This phenomena worked in both ways. She could not understand why members of the Fog are deserting their fleet and siding with the humans. What was so advantageous with siding with such weak creatures? Humans was so unpredictable, they let their feeling towards a certain situation steer their direction of action. Why? She could not understand.

She wanted to understand what I-401 saw so appealing in the humans that she would sacrifice herself to fight against her sisters, something which the flagship would never do because sister ships are able to deliver one of the strongest attacks against each other. Perhaps that was the reason I-401 deserted the Fog. The only reason the flagship could conjure up is that I-401 wanted to fight stronger enemies that humans were unable to produce, thus I-401 went on this journey of defiance and betrayal just to fight the Fog fleet.

I-401 had managed to take down Hyuuga, a fast battleship, Takao, a heavy cruiser, Kirishima and Haruna, a pair of fast battleships, and I-400 and I-402, her sister ships. All these before mentioned naval machines were each certainly stronger than all the remaining human fleet combined. The flagship of the Black Fleet can definitely see the trend that I-401 wanted to combat stronger opponents and waver their alignment. If a stronger enemy is what I-401 wants, a stronger enemy is what I-401 will get.

Ruthless, relentless, destructive, unfeeling, excessively violent. That was the reputation that she had gained for herself during her previous missions, and she would not let I-401 down as a stronger enemy.

Kongou would never charge into a battle she is not guaranteed to win, Maya is always fond of saying when the Black Fleet was not busy patrolling the seas.

This time, Kongou did charge into a battle turned heavily in the enemy's favour, but her violent tendencies and raw power allowed her to bulldoze her way deep into enemy lines.
