"Hey, Chi? Are you almost ready to go?" Hideki called as he gave himself a look in the mirror. He was wearing a clean, white shirt tucked into black pants.

"Chiiii!" Chi responded from around the corner in another room. A few moments later, she walked out.

She looked beautiful. Her navy blue halter top gathered perfectly up to her neck, modest yet stylish. On the bottom, she wore a seamless, short, ivory-coloured skirt and matching flat shoes. Her hair was combed perfectly and shone radiantly. Her pink and white hairclips were polished and glowed like jewels.

Hideki reached into the closet and pulled out a shawl. He walked around behind Chi and gently wrapped it around her shoulders.

"I guess we'll be off then."

"Chi!"

As they walked through the front foyer of the building, they saw Miss Hibiya sitting at the desk.

"I see the two of you are going out for the night!" she said with a smile.

"Yes, we are!" Hideki replied.

"I hope you have a good time!"

"Chi! Thank you, Miss Hibiya." Chi replied.

They walked down the small streets of the town. There weren't too many cars on the road, and the lights of the buildings accented the horizon against the darkening sky. They glanced at the store windows as they walked by. They could see all the newest persocoms sitting in the window. They looked as if they were sleeping and they were all built to look like beautiful women, but none of them looked as beautiful as Chii did that night. After a few minutes of walking they entered the restaurant.

Hideki removed Chi's shawl as they sat down across from each other at the small table. They were soon deciding what they wanted to eat.

"Go ahead, Chi, pick anything you'd like," Hideki said to Chi.

"Hideki doesn't want to save money?" Chi looked at the Hideki and tilted her head slightly.

"Don't worry about the money, Chi," Hideki reassured her. "This is a special occasion, remember? You can have whatever you like. Money doesn't matter tonight."

They enjoyed their dinner and Hideki told Chi stories and things that she had never heard before. She had to ask a few questions here and there, but that was alright.

After they left the restaurant, the sun had completely set. They walked along a path until they got to a bridge overlooking some of the town. They leaned against the railing and stared ahead at the illuminated buildings. Chi's golden hair blew in the gentle breeze. Hideki took this moment to hold one of Chii's soft hands, wrapping the other arm around her shoulder. He got closer to her and pressed his body against hers, cradling her head under his chin.

Chi closed her eyes and smiled.

They stayed this way for many minutes, embracing each other's warmth.

After what seemed like a moment frozen in time, Chi opened her eyes and turned to Hideki. He bent forward and kissed her, their silhouettes outlines by the light of the moon.

Chi has fallen in love with Hideki…Has Hideki fallen in love with Chi?
