Author's Note: Thought about expanding my fan fiction writing and due to my husband getting me hooked on Star Wars, I decided to do some Star Wars fan fiction.
Summary: One-shot fic about Anakin Skywalker's force ghost watching over the funeral of his grandson and namesake Anakin Solo.
The Funeral
Anakin's force ghost looked at the funeral before him and saw a funeral pyre in the middle of a large group of people. He saw his children Luke and Leia along with their spouses Mara Jade Skywalker and Han Solo. He looked around and saw three of his four grandchildren: Ben Skywalker and the Solo twins Jaina and Jacen. For some reason, he did not even saw his namesake Anakin Solo among the crowd.
Luke spoke to his sister and brother-in-law, "Leia and Han, you were expecting for your children to light your funeral pyres, but instead you will have to light the funeral pyre of your son Anakin, a task that no parent, regardless of species, should never had to do."
Anakin's force ghost went closer to the funeral pyre and took a look at the body lying at the funeral pyre and saw that he was at his namesake's funeral. He remembered when he was only a boy that the Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn found him as a slave boy on Tattionie and hoped to be his master, but Darth Maul killed him and made his Paderwan Obi-Wan Kenobi promised that he will be Anakin's master before he died from his wounds.
Obi-Wan did became his master, but even Obi-Wan could not keep Anakin from the Dark Side, which he lost not only his wife, but his twin children were separated and not known of each other's existence for years. Now his children had forgiven him of the actions that he did as Darth Vader, even blowing up Leia's home planet of Alderaan and killing Obi-Wan. He was glad that Leia had named her youngest child after him.
Luke continued to speak, "We are here today to say goodbye to Anakin Solo, who like his grandfather and namesake Anakin Skywalker, was a great Jedi, but he was not just a great Jedi. He was also a son, a brother, and also a nephew. Leia and Han, please step to the pyre."
Luke, Leia, and Han stepped towards the pyre and light up a torch. One by one, they light up the pyre and watched as Anakin Solo's remains burned in the fire.
Just before the fire died down, Leia saw the force ghost of her father Anakin Skywalker joining the force ghost of her son Anakin Solo and said, "Please watch over my little boy, Father."
Anakin Skywalker's force ghost simply said, "I will watch over him, my daughter."
Luke, Han, and Leia saw the two force ghosts just before they disappeared and said, "You are now One with the Force with your grandfather, Anakin Solo."
