You've seen Sonic running fast, collecting rings and destroy robots. But now you're gonna see him running fast, collecting rings and destroy robots. But this time, it's in...
3-D!
Plus it has a story.
Prepare to see Sonic and his friends: his two-tailed inventor friend (Tails), his muscular friend before he became muscular in Sonic Boom (Knuckles), his stalker-I mean! Fangirl who fights with a hammer that isn't very useful in the game until the final boss (Amy), a robot with used to be a little bird (E-102 Gamma) and a giant purple cat who's...ugh...just the worst (Big the Cat).

Together, they face off against Dr. Robotnik, who's ever since this game Sonic starts calling him Dr. Eggman. He controls a blue monster made of Jell-O (Chaos) with a bigger appetitive of gems than Spike from My Little Pony. Who eats Chaos Emeralds until becoming into a even bigger monster. And there's...this girly version of Knuckles (Tikal), who's only there to make some exposition about her tribe, the Master Emerald and how it produced Jell-O monsters...okay, the story is kinda stupid. BUT LOOK HOW FAST SONIC IS RUNNING AWAY FROM THAT WHALE!
Prepare for an awesome gameplay experience in a Sonic 3D game, going through several stages like: a beach, a valley where you can running on the sky, a casino where you can waste your time playing pinball, a volcano, or the last stages where you have to slow down like Eggman's ship, the stupid temple and the Eggman's base! Don't you hate when you have to slow down in a Sonic game?
But if you get bored of always playing with Sonic, you can play with his friends as well: challenging Sonic in a race with Tails, finding pieces of the Master Emerald with Knuckles, getting away from an Eggman's robot with Amy, shoot em' up with Gamma and...going fishing with Big, which it's easily the worst part of the game.

Come on, COME ON! GRRR! STUPID FROG! Almost there, almost there! NO! I'm gonna make it, I CAN DO IT! NOOOOO! F*CK THESE STAGES! I'D RATHER GOING FISHING WITH MY GRANDPA!
Once you complete all the stages, there's a final stage where you transform into Super Sonic and you fight against Perfect Chaos with just...running straight to him and going through him. Well, that was anti-climatic.
But there's one more thing that everybody loves: CHAO GARDEN! Where you raised cute little blue guys feeding them with...uh...cute animals? Okay, that sounds more disturbing than it looks.
