"It's been awhile since we've had a drink, hasn't it Hoenhiem?" Pinako looked at him with her eyebrows raised as she took another swig of her beer.
"Indeed it has." Hoenhiem swished his drink around the glass. Pinako wondered what was eating at him but said nothing about it. He would share if he wanted too.
"Where did you go on your travels this time?"
He raised his head and the light reflection on his glasses disappeared, allowing her to actually see his eyes. "I went to Xing again. They're not doing too well. They're currently at war with Aurthinia, Creta, Drachma, and Vinland."
Pinako smirked. "You're always traveling, and you're not getting any younger. Soon you'll be buying a dog to follow you around, barking every time you collapse. And I'll be here getting calls from Creta saying that you're in so hospital in 'Milos'." Pinako put her drink on the table; she raised her finger, pointing it at him as if she were a mother scolding a child. "I'll tell you one thing Hoenhiem; I ain't going to no Creta just to drag your sorry ass back to Amestris."
He took a sip of his drink. "I don't expect you too."
"Good." After a moment of silence, Pinako broke it by shaking her head and chuckling to herself. "You're just so confident because you don't look old." She gave him what looked to be an exaggerated version of a smirk and a smile combination. "Am I right?"
Hoenhiem shrugged his shoulders expression never changing. "Possibly."
He wondered where the conversation was going; he hated keeping secrets from her, till she went on to commenting on him still being a bachelor. "You need to settle down, ya' old wanderer."
"I will once you do."
To that Pinako only snorted.

The war mentioned by Hoenhiem in Xing is based off the second Opium War, which happened from 1856-1860. (If Pinako is around her late twenties in this, that would put her somewhere in her late eighties in the timeline of the series. I probably made her older than the age Arakawa had in mind.)
Aurthinia is the name I made up for a country in the FMA world modeled after Britain. I named it Aurthinia based on King Arthur's famous rule in what is now modern day Britain.
Vinland is the name I made up for a country in the FMA world modeled after the US. But here I connected Canada and the US.*shot* Vinland is the name of a town in Canada that was settled by Leaf Ericson in 1000 CE.
I made up both the countries of Aurthinia and Vinland.
