Just something short I wrote during Algebra II class. Zuko's point of view. There may be a companion to this from Katara's point of view, it just depends on what we are covering in class. XD
Opposites Attracting
She's tortured me:
Her sapphire eyes
Lighting up with passion and anger
Before a rush of water
Hurtles towards me
Her stance graceful and perfect
Protecting that damn Avatar
With such loyalty that
I will never know
Nobody will ever guard
Me like that
Except for Uncle.
My family no longer shares
Their love with me
They exiled me
Turned their back
And put up wanted posters
Her family loved her
When she left,
People cried for her
Instead laughing at her
And all for that child!
He doesn't deserve her
He could not protect her
Air
Such a weak element
Fire is passion
Fire is strong
Perfect for either warmth
Or destruction.
If Fire and Water
Belonged together
To balance the world
Why was the universe
Forcing them apart?
Why does the perfect match
Cause such strife?
They always said opposites attract
And Agni, if I wasn't attracted to her
