Author's note: I'm working on another story based on the Disney Movie The Thirteenth year. I wont post it until it's done though because I know I'll never finish it if I post it now. This story I just couldn't get out of my head. I always wondered why Alan and Gordon had such a large age difference, so this could be one possibility that no one thought of.

The Missing Tracy

"Stevens" my new teacher called as he took role. "Here" "The Only Child, Tillman" "Here," Another boy shouted. "The Prodigy," the teacher continued, "Tracy" "Here," yelled Alan. "The accident" That made Alan look up. He hated when people referred to him as 'the accident'. The truth was he really wasn't an accident. Everyone always figured he was because of the large age gap between him and his brothers. Truth was he was the same.

Alan started to think back on the stories he heard from his older brothers and wished once again that his older brother Walter was still alive. He may not remember him but he would have made Alan's life a whole lot easier.

Two years after Gordon was born and two years before Alan another Tracy came along. Walter Schirra Tracy was born. He was born healthy, and like his brothers before him he was a beautiful baby boy. The moment he came out Jeff and Lucy knew they were going to have a sixth child. Each child would have a friend; Lucy always wanted to have an even number so no one would feel left out.

Walter, or Wally as he was known to his family, was one of a kind. He was quiet but he loved getting in to things. Having Gordon before him prepared the parents for a trouble child but he was sometimes just a little too much. He was very quiet making both John and Wally almost appear the same. No baby lock ever kept Wally in or out of things. A little before Wally's second birthday Lucy became pregnant with Alan. Wally was over joyed. Lucy and Jeff just hoped that having another baby around would force Wally to be more careful.

When Wally was two and a half baby Alan was born. He was a bit of a screamer when it came to crying but the family loved him. After a few days in the hospital, both Alan and Lucy came home. Wally couldn't wait until Alan grew up so they could play together.

Alan would cry so much that Wally wanted him to be happy, so he went out to catch some bugs and pick flowers for him. At one particular tree was a bee's nest. Not knowing better he decided that it looked cool enough for Alan. He threw some rocks at it to knock it down. When it fell to the ground bees started to swarm him and sting him. Unknown to his family Wally was deadly allergic to bees. They outnumbered him too much and with not enough time to find help Wally's throat closed and he never breathed again.

The family was devastated and on a trip to help get over their loss an avalanche took Lucy from them.

Alan felt the tear in his eye as he thought back to two people in his life. He was not an accident, just bad things happened.
