PROLOGUE
Middle-earth, 3019 of the Third Age. The Great War of The Ring is over. The Dark Lord Sauron has been defeated, the Ring of Power cast into the fires of Mount Doom in Mordor. The people of Middle-earth along with the Host of the West have reunited and are rejoicing in their new found peace.
The Host of the West consisted of about seven thousand warriors; men from Southern Gondor and Dunedain of the North led by Aragorn, rightful heir to the throne of Gondor, Rohirrim soldiers led by their new king, Eomer, nephew of the slain King Theoden, knights from the city of Dol Amroth led by Prince Imrahil along with his three sons Elphir, Erchirion, and Amrothos, the elves Legolas, prince of Mirkwood, and Elladan and Elrohir, the twin sons of Lord Elrond, the dwarf Gimli, the wizard Gandalf the White, and the hobbits Meriadoc Brandybuck, Esquire of Rohan, and Peregrin Took, Guard of the Citadel, who had accompanied Frodo Baggins, the ring-bearer, and Samwise Gamgee, his gardener and companion, on their journey from the Shire.
All fought bravely on the Field of Morannon until the One Ring was destroyed and Sauron vanquished. Many courageous knights, rangers and soldiers lost their lives, but not in vain. It was a faith they were all prepared for, their destiny already decided by the Valar.
