It was going to be a cold day in Suna the day she admitted that she had feelings for Crybaby. The reason for that was simple, she didn't have any sorts of mushy, gushy, and otherwise non solid feelings for Shikamaru Nara. She just thought he was a capable fighter and an okay tactician. She did not think anything else of him, in fact she didn't think about him at all.
His lazy ass, cloud watching, pineapple headed self did not plague her thoughts at all. After all, what kind of girl did people think she was? Did they really think her possible of being so weak as to fall in love? Hadn't she proved that she wasn't some crazed fan girl whose only thoughts were consumed by a boy? Even if said boy wasn't all bad and maybe even a little appealing in her opinion. Not that she had any sort of opinion in regards to the Nara boy. It wasn't like she had given the thought of dating him a second, but if she had then he seemed like as good a choice as any.
In any case she was a very busy ambassador and had no time for him or anyone she considered dating. Not that she had planned anything out or even wondered if it was possible for the two of them. Sure, Crybaby was her escort and a sort of ambassador to Suna, but what kind of relationship would two Shinobi such as them have. It certainly wasn't worth it. Plus, she didn't even really love him; she just liked him a small insignificant bit.
Nope, she didn't love him at all. She just cared for him, sort of like her love for her brother, except not. It wasn't really stronger, or weaker, just different and sort of painful. Obviously it wasn't love because if all those romance novels Kankuro kept hidden in his closet were correct, love was everything but painful.
So yeah she would never have to admit to loving Shikamaru Nara because she wasn't in love. She wasn't in anything, not even like. Just like she said before, it was going to be a cold day in Suna…What the hell? Was that a snowball that just flew by her window? Damn! It was going to be a cold day in Suna…
