Fire. Water. Elements that do not go together. Enemies since the times of the spirits. And yet, so similar.
Zuko watched from afar as Katara put her curly hair into a ponytail. He sighed inwardly and something deep within him made him walk forward.
Katara daydreamed about golden eyes while haphazardly putting her hair in a ponytail. She thought about steam.
She heard a twig snap, and whipped around to see a pair of golden eyes boring into hers. She sighed inwardly and something deep within her made her walk forward. She stared at him evenly, not daring to show emotion. She crossed her arms, and said:''well, are you going to move, or what? Because I have real things to do instead of staring at people, trying to be mysterious. Who do you think you are? Did you even do anything to contribute this morning? Even Toph did! Just because Aang is off in Kyoshi to take care of some business dosen't mean-"
She never got to finish the sentence.
He slightly smiled as Katara started talking. After a while, he got tired. He got closer, but she did not notice. Closer and closer. Finally, he closed the little distance they had.
One word: steam.
Before she could say anything, Zuko whipped around and speed walked to the camp, and did not say a word to Katara all day. But at the end of the day, when the moon was full, Katara said something to Zuko he'll never forget: " Well? How was it?" "Steamy."
