Authors Note: Just a little something a wrote about Hayato.

Satisfied.

He may not have been the best duelist to have graduated from duel academy, but it never mattered to him.

Why should it? He still found his place in the world, still contributed to dueling.

While he waited for Pegasus to offer his opinion on the latest card designs, he rested and watched the pro-league duels.

One time, the duel was approaching the end, one duelist with 1200 lifepoints, the other on a mere 100, supposedly over.

Hayato knew that wouldn't necessarily be the case, he's seen too many duels to jump to conclusions.

He was correct, the duelist came from behind to win with the card he drew.

Ayers Rock Sunrise.

He knew that card better than anyone else. He took a card out of his pocket. Ayers Rock Sunrise. The first one ever made. The first card he ever designed, the card that nearly beat Chronos, the Obelisk blue head.

It didn't matter that he lost, he still proved himself.

His recent designs got accepted, as usual. This meant more of his cards making their effect on the world of dueling.

A new artist joined shortly after, she had orange hair and Hayato recognized her from Duel Academy. She wasn't as experienced as he was so he always made an effort to help her out. Before long she had a fair collection of designs for cards that would soon be seen on television.

He no longer cared if he wasn't the best duelist around. He was fully aware that he would never have thought of using his cards the way the duelists in the pro-league did. He had a stable job, people looked up to him and he was having an effect on dueling in his own way. He couldn't be more satisfied.
