Prologue
Bella's POV
Edward left me I feel mad. Jacob left me because he is a werewolf. How come all the men in my life feel the need to protect me?! Or leave me?! I am the daughter of Athena. I am a demi-goddess and quite capable to look after myself.
I am in the woods I think letting my frustration out on some trees might be good. I feel the someone watching me. Someone powerful. I turn and see Lady Artemis watching me.
"Lady Artemis", I say
"Isabella daughter of Athena. You are very hateful towards men", Artemis states
"I haven't had good experiences with them", I say
"How would you like to join my Hunters? You know about my Hunters are you willing to give up all men?" Artemis asks
I think about it. Do I really want to give up on men? After all the heartbreak I think I do. It is not like I have any friends or a boyfriend to give up.
"I pledge myself to the Goddess Artemis. I turn my back on the company of men, accept eternal maidenhood, and join the Hunt", I say pledging myself to Lady Artemis
"Very well I accept your pledge. Come with me and join the eternal hunt!" Artemis says
I leave my old life in Forks behind for a new one where I knew I would feel I belonged…
