Not His, Yours ch 1

A/N: Okay I absolutely hate the Will/Layla pairing! Warren/Layla are like a perfect match! What the Hell Disney! Anyway, even though I have a Warren/OC in the works, I wanted to make this fanfiction. I always found it odd that Layla had never seen Warren at her favorite restaurant before, in this fic she did, and it changes things up quite a bit. Hehe, enjoy the first chapter!:)

Paper Lantern, Third POV

Layla sat her usual booth looking around as she waited for her food. Some people found it odd, but gardening wasn't the only thing she liked to do. She liked people watching. No one seemed to understand it, not even her best friend Will. Ah, Will... The very thought of his name brought a whimsical smile to her face. Not that he noticed. She was just the girl he had known all his life. She might as well be a sister in his eyes... Ugh! She so needed to get over him! It was never going to happen. The plant next to her started growing faster in her irritation. She didn't notice until a deep voice spoke next to her.

"You might want to cool it. Someone is bound to notice the increase in vegetation." Layla's whipped around to see the source of the voice, her eyes wide with horror. She'd been caught. The boy gave her a small smirk. "It's okay. I'm like you. Your secrets safe with me." Layla instantly relaxed and gave a small smile, now looking the boy over. And by Goddess he was hot! His cut off shirt showed off well toned arms. He had black hair with red streaks on one side, dark almost black eyes, and nicely tanned skin. Layla felt her heart skip a beat. He raised an eyebrow at her staring. She quickly held out her hand.

"Layla Williams." The boy looked apprehensive for a moment, then took her hand, watching her reaction, making her wonder as he said his name.

"Warren Peace." Her eyes widened for a second in realization, then she smiled, shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you." Warren' s eyes widened in turn, before he gave her a smile. A real smile, that made Layla's heart stop.

"Same." Just as he was about to say something else, someone yelled at him from the kitchen. He rolled his eyes giving her a smirk. "Gotta go. Talk to you later Hippie." She growled at the nickname but he just smirked and walked off. Layla smiled to herself as he walked off. She definitely had a crush on it's almost impossible not to. Just his voice was enough to melt any girl into a puddle of goo at his feet. She definitely knew where she would be hanging out most the summer.

Layla stayed a little longer before paying and readying to leave. Just as she was about to stand to leave, Warren appeared at her side. "You come here often?" She smiled.

"All the time. And I think it will be more so now. But I have to get going now. See you, Hothead!" She said with a wink, then turned walking out with her hips swaying slightly. She looked over her shoulder to see him staring at her as she walked away, causing her to giggle. She then walked home.
