When She Fell

ROTG Fanfic - Megan is the spirit of everything that falls, especially the bad, that's how she sees it at least. In world war two Megan was experimented on; her and a girl named Clara. So on one lonely morning Megan was shot into the sky. And she fell, and died. But when she wakes in the world once more and meets the fun and adventurous Jack Frost, will Megan begin to fall again.

When She Fell

Prologue -

They don't say that winter is a horrible season, underneath it is delicate but strong.
Winter preserves; it protects, it crystallises.

It saves a little piece of the past until the day it decides to let it thaw.

They don't say that summer is awful at all, behind the façade it is brightness.
Summer is excitement, it's warmth, it's delight.

It's a bright light that all the world can appreciate and share.

They don't say that spring is horrible and cruel, how could you criticize the beacon of hope.
Spring grows, it lives, it breathes.

It's a time when the world comes alive, in colour, joy, love.

They don't say that autumn is horrible, but in that they are terribly wrong.
Autumn cripples, it cracks, it dies.

It's a time when one unseen spirit, has to make everything around her fall.

My name is Megan.

I'm the autumn spirit.

There is only one of me, so I get lonely from time to time.

But it's a good life; or death I should say.

I died before I became a spirit.

It was during the Second World War

I was experimented on.

Germany sent me up into the sky to see if my other half would stop breathing as well.

To see if my other half would die if I died.

To see if somehow, she could save me from falling.

I wasn't hopeful; I knew I would fall.

And I did.

But being a spirit isn't that bad.

I get to travel the world.

I had always wanted to travel the world.

I always try to be positive.

An optimist.

But how happy can you be when no one can see you, when no one believes in you, when your only job is killing things.

I love leaves, but every autumn I suck the life out of them, crumple them, crush them, dull them. I end up destroying everything in the end.

So whenever I hear someone ask about autumn I whisper,

One day a girl fell and took the world with her.
