It was a stormy night for the two. Fiora was tired, but the slightest thunder-clap woke her up. As the rain dripped on and off the roof, the pitter patter like little feet like the one of a mouse. She had remembered the days of old, the days before the battle for Bionis had sprung, the picnic Shulk had with her. The rain died down and the sun shone. She was caught off guard.
"Had I really been up that long?"
She said in her gentle, tired voice,
"I better try to hide how tired I am from Shulk."
Earlier that week ther decided to have another picnic at that very spot they had 2 years ago. She made some coffee from the leftover beans she had harvested from Satoryl Marsh. It tasted horrible, like soft lizard scales mixed with hard salt and mud. But it was the only thing she had. She hurried to Shulk in the Weapon Development Lab where he practically lived.
"It seems he already walked to the spot." Reyn added after Fiora asked,
"He's waiting for you Fiora, dont mess this up!"
She walked to the tree from that day. The bench that once was fully functional switched to being broken and crushed under the leftover metal from Muhmkar's old Metal Face shell. Shulk was leaning over the fence, his red puffy jacket Fiora had made him before the battle at Sword Valley 3 years prior had still fit him well, though he had grown.
"Hey Fiora, you look nice"
Shulk had added before she could speak,
"How about we sit down,"
She added quiety, her throat very dry.
"Sure, but where?"
"On Muhmkar's old face silly, it looks like it could do for a bench"
It was a bad idea. It was ice cold from the rain.
"Lets just sit on that patch of grass"
Shulk added, immediately jumping off the face and onto his feet.
"No complaints from me"
Fiora added in a child-like tone, like the one she used to use when Shulk was happy.
There was one thing that bugged her mind, though. Shulk had a cube-shaped bulge in his right pocked. She dismissed this as just an item he was carrying for a friend and started to open the basket with all the food she carried. She fad felt warm, almost raging when she had sat next to Shulk. The warm spring's day glistened with the raid from the night prior. The flowers started to bloom. They talked, laughed, and remembered. Remembering the time they first met, remembering the time they had their first argument, remembering their first romantic encounter at the age of 9. It was a nice feeling she had remembering these. But after the food was gone and she leaned on his shoulder, Shulk stood up. Fiora followed this and asked him,
"Whats the matter Shulk?"
"Well Fiora, we've been together for quite some time-"
She thought to herself,'Wait, that box, the clothes I made, this picnic...'
"And I've been wanting to ask something for awhile-"
He continued 'He's...'
"Fiora-"
'Oh Bionis thank you'
"Will you marry me."
Shulk got onto one knee and grabbed the box out of his pocket. It contained a ring, one made from Jade and gold streamed together like waves of water being crashed violently creating a ripple of color. Immediately Fiora tackled Shulk, crying. Crying with joy, crying with exitement. She then muttered one word into his ear...
"Yes..."
