Thomas and Ashima In Shunting and Farewells

3 days after the Great Race

Thomas and Ashima were having a good shunt when the Fat Controller arrived in Winston.

"Ashima your ship has been delayed so I hope you don't mind working here for a little while." explained the Fat Controller.

"Not at all sir I'm bonding well with your engines especially Thomas." admitted Ashima.

"That's good." smiled the Fat Controller and left.

Soon Thomas and Ashima were shunting 50 trucks into 5 lines.

"Ashima I'll tell you something silly when Philip first came James tried to one-up him by pulling more trucks than he could manage." smiled Thomas.

"(Ashima chuckles) That is funny."

Then Henry, Duck, Oliver, Percy and Whiff came for for the trucks.

"Wow you two are great shunters." smiled Percy.

"Thank you." smiled Ashima.

"Ashima I will be honest." puffed Thomas. "When we first met I came up with the stupid thought that you were jealous of me."

"There's nothing to be jealous I am like you an excellent shunter like you." smiled Ashima then she frowned.

"You alright Ashima?" asked Duck.

"Yes just sad I'll have to leave and say goodbye to you all." replied Ashima.

Then Salty oiled in.

"Ashima I hate to see ye sad but your ship is coming in tonight." he oiled.

"I'm happy to be going home but sad to be leaving you all." replied Ashima.

"Maybe a photo with us would make you feel better." suggested Philip.

"That could work." replied Ashima.

"I'll go to the Fat Controller." volunteered Duck.

And so it was arranged by the Fat Controller to have a photographer to take a photo of Thomas, Philip, Percy, Emily, Henry, James and Gordon for Ashima.

"Feel better Ashima?" asked Thomas.

"Very." replied Ashima.

Later at the Docks a rail-ferry arrived to take Ashima back to India.

"On behalf of Sodor. Thanks for being our friend Ashima." smiled Thomas.

"My pleasure and thank you for being my friend Thomas." smiled Ashima. "I hope we meet again."

"Even if it was another Railway show?" asked Thomas.

"Yes." smiled Ashima. "I'll miss you all."

"We'll all miss you too Ashima have a safe journey." replied Thomas sadly.

"I will goodbye Sodor." puffed Ashima.

"Goodbye Ashima." sighed Thomas.

"Bye Ashima." said Percy, Duck, Emily, Salty and Porter.

"I think I know how you feel Percy about missing Gator." sighed Thomas.

"Yeah but like Salty who knows maybe both Gator and Ashima will come back someday." smiled Percy.

And everyone agreed as Thomas smiled.

"I hope so Percy I really do." smiled Thomas.
