Notes: I got the idea for this when I was working on a Sequel, but knew I couldn't do it justice by writing an actual story. So, I've been working on songs instead. This one is, of course, to the tune of KONY, but note that it's kind of a sad song. It's talking about life after the strike, newsies being replaced with newsstands and trying harder to sell, basically, living the life of an adult. If you don't like it, it's okay. It was just an idea and I've been working on it for a few days now. Also, pretend Jack went to Santa Fe and came back recently. Oh and to get the tune, you might have to stretch a few words out.

Mush - Getting our usual booth at Tibby's

Race - An easier way to earn some money

Spot - The power that I used to remember

Blink - For a simpler life, I would surrender

Race - Look at me

Used to be King of New York

Now look and see, here I am

Scrounging for money

Isn't that funny

Jack - Used to be the head of the strike

Used to have the time of my life

Now look at this

This is not the New York that I had missed

Les - The papes used to cost a penny

But now they cost one too many

Snipes - Now we have serious competition

Just to sell the next edition

All - Look at me

Used to be Kings of New York

Wish that we could still be Kings of New York

Now look and see, here I am

Scrounging for money

Isn't that funny

Newsstands now take up the road

While we carry our heavy load

Street to street, corner to corner

Working harder for that quarter

Life isn't what it used to be

That's something easy to see

The pictures in the paper are faded

It was history we created

Wish I could still be King of New York

Back then when we were Kings of New York

See me now

Seemed impossible

But things have changed

Since those old days

Back then when we had won

But now our fun is done

Wish that now

Life would be better

So much better

Used to be Kings of New York

Look at me

Was a striker, those days were numbered

No longer King of New York

Gone are our days of glory, front page stories

Wish to be Kings of New York
