Memories of a Song
A Chronicles of Narnia story
Summary: As he promised, Edmund Pevensie looked for her. He searched and searched all of London but with no such luck. Who knew one song was the thing to bring them together?
Warnings: Spoilers
Disclaimer: I own no rights to the Chronicles of Narnia series. This includes the book series, the cartoons, movies, etc. They belong to C.S. Lewis, the genius behind it all.
Author's Note: The song used in this chapter is not mine. I did not write it. Carrie Underwood co-wrote this song ("There's a Place for Us") and sings it for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie.
By the way, this is just a snippet of what I might be continuing to write. I have the idea set, I just got to finish the book series before it's set in stone. I don't want to write down something that's not from the books unintentionally and get it's ideals wrong.
Memory Lives Forever

"...La lala la la la la..."
Such a beautiful voice rang through his ears. The voice was feminine, having that soft quality especially when she hit the high notes. Her voice almost sounded hypnotizing, he couldn't help but find where the beautiful sound was coming from.
"We can be the kings and queens of anything if we believe
It's written in the stars that shine above
A world where you and I belong where faith and love will keep us strong
Exactly who we are is just enough
There's a place for us"
He ran through the halls of the campus to find the owner of this voice. It almost sounded familiar, like he had heard before some time ago. He couldn't place it, but this feeling only made his determination to find the girl even stronger.
"Da da daaa. Dala laaa!"
Her voice suddenly grew louder as she reached the climax of the song, making the song sound much more powerful. He had a feeling he was getting close because he began to hear soft guitar playing behind her voice. He was so close, so close to finding this voice. He had to reach her, and he had to reach her soon. He had a feeling her song was coming to a close.
"There's a place for us..."
He finally found her. He slid to a stop in front of the room the voice was coming from. Without hesitation, he opened the door quickly, but quietly so he wouldn't startle the girl with the voice. He didn't want her to stop singing. Especially not because of him.
"We can be the kings and queens of anything if we believe
It's written in the stars that shine above
A world where you and I belong where faith and love will keep us strong
Exactly who we are is just enough"
He watched her as the song slowly came to a close. He didn't even notice the second girl in the room playing the acoustic guitar. He couldn't take his eyes off of the girl singing. Not only did the song sound familiar, but so did the girl. He continued to study her as he listened to the song,
"Exactly who we are is just enough.
There's a place for us"
Then she smiled. The memories of the girl finally whirled into his brain like a tornado. Her laughs, her smiles, her cries, her brother complex. Yes, he remembered, and he felt like the biggest moron because he didn't realize who she was sooner. To save his pride, he blamed the nonrecognition on the years he had not seen her.
"Azelia..."
She turned and looked at him, surprise was the only expression he could read. He could only smile, not believing she was sitting in front of him now.
"Hi, Edmund."
