It was December 21st, in the town of Echo Creek. The princess of Mewni, Star Butterfly, and her friends Marco Diaz and Janna Ordania were visiting their families on Earth
for the holidays. At the Diaz residence, Star and Marco were having grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, when Rafael, Marco's dad, came in the kitchen holding a letter.
Rafael: Marco, there's a letter here for you, from Cape Town, South Africa!
Marco was confused about this, because who did he know from South Africa that would sent him a letter? Regardless of that, he opened up the letter, and read it.
Marco, if you're back on holiday from Mewni, I'd personally would like to invite you and your friends to my great aunt's mansion in South Africa for the holidays!
I told my great aunt all about you guys, and she would love to meet you. If you want to spend Christmas at the mansion, the address to it is on the back of the letter.

Marco had an awkward look. He turned to Star, who was happily eating a grilled cheese sandwich.
Marco: Star, I'm not sure if you want to go anywhere else since we just got back, but... (shows Star the letter he got from Jackie)
After Star read the letter from Jackie, she immediately squealed in delight, because she was excited about seeing a mansion!
Star: (ecstatic) Marco, this could be the best Christmas we've ever had together on Earth. Just think about it, I'll finally get to go to a mansion, and you can see Jackie
Lynn again.
Marco was tempted with this situation. After that break-up some months ago, it would be nice to see how Jackie is doing now. However, he came back from Mewni so he could spend Christmas with his family. He was torn on what to do.
Marco: Star, this is a really generous offer, but we came home so we could spend the holidays with my parents and my new little brother.
Star: Well, how about we ask them to come along with us?
Marco hadn't thought of that. He went to his father, and his mother, Angie, and showed them Jackie's letter, her great aunt's mansion in South Africa, and asked them if they wanted to go there with them to spend Christmas.
Angie: (happily) Wow, Marco, this is the best offer you have gotten. Of course we'll accomdate you and Star to South Africa!
Rafael: Both of you get packed up for the trip, because we're sure gonna have the best Christmas ever!
The Diaz family, along with Star, packed up their stuff, drove to the airport, and got on a flight headed to Cape Town, South Africa. Angie, Rafael, Marco Jr., Star, and Marco were sitting in coach.
Star: (excited) This is great! I'm going to South Africa!
Marco: Not only that, but we're going to Jackie's great aunt's mansion for the holidays! (says to himself) In addition, after a long time of her doing her antics on Mewni, Janna won't be there to scare me all the way in South Africa.
At that moment, a hand came up behind Marco, swung in mid-air where he could see it, and the person made ghost noises.
Marco: (scared) Okay, whoever's doing that behind me, show yourself!
The person then slowly came up behind Marco... and it was really to be Janna!
Janna: (laughs) Marco, I think I'm pretty much going to be scaring you in South Africa!
Marco groaned, while Star was excited to see Janna.
Star: Janna! What are you doing here?
Janna: (happily) Believe it or not, Star, Jackie Lynn wrote a letter asking me if I spend Christmas at her great aunt's mansion.
Star: Did you family give you permission?
Janna: I just told my parents that I wanted to go to a friend's mansion in South Africa for the holidays so I could see in there's spooky stuff in there. Like, ghosts, skeletons,
zombies! They just had to drive me to the airport and get me a plane ticket.
Star: (laughing) Janna, we're going over there to spend Christmas with Jackie, not Halloween!
Janna: I know that, Star! But it still would be cool to see scary things in the mansion.
Star: It could be fun to see if there's haunted stuff is in the mansion. Anyway, is Christmas like Stump Day on Mewni?
Janna: Oh, girl, it's much more than that...
Throughout the plane trip to South Africa, Janna told Star about what Christmas was all about on Earth, and the possiblities the mansion would have to offer, while all Marco could do is sit there and listen to them, annoyed...
Marco: (to himself) This is going to be a long flight.
Later, in the afternoon, the place had arrived at the Cape Town International Airport in South Africa, where the group had gotten off. When they were in the airport, Marco had called Jackie by phone to inform her that they would arrive at her great aunt's mansion today. To get to the mansion, they had to board a public bus. While riding the bus, they saw that the city of Cape Town is a sunny place, just like it was in Echo Creek! In the evening, the bus arrived at the mansion, and Star, Marco, Janna, Angie, Rafael, got off at their location, and looked at the mansion where they'll be staying at.
