The Dark
Chapter 1 : Arigamon
"Stingmon!" Ken yells out as his Digimon falls from the sky and Digivolves back into Wormmon.
'This is bad' is the first thing to cross both Tai's and Davis' minds. No one is left to fight, and Tawamon can now pick them off one-by-one.
Tawamon zooms down and lands a few feet away from gatomon and her master.
"Cari!" Davis and TK both yell out. No one can get to her in time and everyone freezes and watches in horror as Tawamon smlies and stalks forewards...
Just then, a huge, white bat-like Digimon with Black Armor plates swoops down and hits Tawamon away from Cari.
Tawamon screeches in fury, too angry to even talk. The mysterious Digimon cries out, "Sonic Fury!"
Huge yellow beams come from each inner wing and shower Tawamon. Tawamon lands hard against the rocky ground and fades away.
The new Digimon flies over to the dark spire and yells out, "Sonic Scream!" It then lets out a piercing noise that shatters the spire. the Digimon flies twice over the Digidestined, then flies away to the north.
"Who was that?" Tai asks of no one in particular.
Izzy responds, "Give me a second." He gets out his laptop and puts his Digivice in the special slot. "Hmm." he types a bit. "that was Arigamon. It's an armor Digimon."
"An armor Digimon? Don't they need a Digidestined to Digivolve?" Davis asks.
"Yes, they should."
"Why didn't he stay and talk to us? you'd think that after all the trouble to help us, he'd want to know if we were ok." Cari notes.
"Maybe he doesn't want us to know who he is." Joe ponders aloud.
"But why not?" T.K. asks.
"Well, I don't know!" Davis yells out, agrivated that everyone keeps going over something that's not going to help them any.
"Ok, is everyone all right, more-or-less?" Tai asks, turning back to more imediat problems.
Everyone replies to the affirmative. Ken walks over carrying Wormmon in his arms. "Is everything all right over here?"
"We're all fine, Ken. Do you know anything about Arigamon?" Yolei asks, still slightly infatuated with the Ex-Digimon Emporer.
"Arigamon? he's a legend. A folktale. I've never heard of a real witness, or, at least, not a credible one. Are you saying that was...?"
"It was. That's what my laptop says. What do the legends say?"
"If I remember correctly, the legend says that when dark forces gather, they must be fought with dark. Arigamon, Cotamon, Techmon, Wingmon, Nessmon, Tiaumon and their mysterious leader."
"The Dark? So, we're not supposed to be fighting them?" Mimi asks quietly.
"No." T.K. states confidently. "If the gates open and we're all here, than this is where we need to be."
"Hey, yeah, T.K., you're on to something. We must be here to teach the Dark, they must be new Digidestined!" Matt adds to his little brother's comments.
"The Dark Digidestined? hey, maybe Ken's one, after all, he has a dark D3." Yolei remarks, looking to Ken for his opinion.
Ken ignores the looks he's receiving from the other digidestined and takes out his black and white D3. ~A Dark Digidestined? Is that what this means? Has it all been... for this? no wonder I'm different...~
All the others continue to watch Ken. He turns without meeting the anxious stares and begins to slowly walk away, Digivice still in hand.
Mimi starts forward but Matt puts a hand on her shoulder to retrain her, "Just let him be, Mimi. He'll come when he's ready. Everybody needs time to grow, and this is his." ~Time to grow, like what I needed. Take all the time you need, Ken. See you next time."
Touching, ne? Well, there we go, another fic from me, she who cannot watch more than 4 eps of a show without writing a fanfic for it. Oh well. C&C always appreciated. I know this story seems kinda korny so far, but it'll get better, just you wait. Ta fer now!
