Checking that the journal was in the right pocket and adjusting the mask and belt of throwing knives. This was it. The last job. The only job the trained assassin wanted to do after realizing where they were. Though that's not to say they wanted to be an assassin, being a baby at the time didn't give them many options in the matter. After this there would be nothing left but to pay the price. It was time to kill Blackbeard before he could cause the damage that would break so many.
He had gone down before the assassin, a look of shock and anger that few could match. "What the hell?" But before he could get an answer, his throat was slit. He fell in the middle of the crowded street. Someone screamed then everyone started running. There were shouts about calling Whitebeard, panic filled the small city.
'Good, he should be here soon then it will be over.' The civilians evacuated to the far side of the island but it didn't matter. The job was done. Moving the body to a small boat and placing a blanket as well as some flowers on the body so it would be easier for the pirates to give the unknown traitor a proper funeral. While not easy and far more than he deserved, did feel like it would show some respect to the pirate crew. Sitting down on the dock looking out to see, all that was left was to wait.
Marco was the first there of course. The only thing stopping the phoenix was the odd sight of the patiently waiting assassin next to the boat that he did not doubt held his dead brother. Glaring at the assassins back he started. "Figured you would have been long gone by now. What did you hope to take more of us down?" Growling at the thought he almost didn't hear what was said. "No, that would be a practice of foolhardiness. And my reasons for killing him would likely be brushed off as please for mercy. Mercy I know I would not give if I was in your place." The mask and cloak made it impossible to tell gender. "But after, should you care to look, I tried to explain as best I could in here." Not looking away from the sea, they slid the journal over to a thoroughly confused but still pissed Marco.
Whitebeard was troubled if even half of the information in the journal is right then… He really didn't want to think any of his sons would be able to do those things. But Haruta was able to find a lot on Blackbeard even if they couldn't prove it had been Teach. 'Disconcerting indeed.'
