"Yo, Kaito," Kaito looked down with a questioning glance at the tiny detective. Conan looked up at him with a tiny smile as he stuffed his hands in his pockets.

"Yeah Tantei-kun?" Kaito asked, raising his eyebrow slightly at Conan. Conan looked away and down to the sidewalk in front of him.

"Thanks." he mumbled, too low for Kaito to pick up. Kaito bent down slightly with a hand cupped to his ear as if it would help him hear Conan better. Conan started to blush in embarrassment at having to repeat himself. "Thanks." he said louder for the older boy to hear. Kaito looked at him in surprised, making Conan brush harder and try to hide his face with his bangs.

"Wha-?" Kaito questioned, not expecting him to thank him for… anything at all really. Getting a thank you from the tiny detective was the least of things he expected to hear from Conan.

"You heard me." Conan grumbled. "Thanks, for you know… all the times you helped me in situations, get me back on my feet and… for always staying here for me even when you don't need to." Conan's face was now a bright red from embarrassment at thanking the thief. It took Kaito a second to realize what Conan was talking about and when he did; he smiled brightly and crouched down to the child's height to sling his arm around his shoulder.

"Hey, what are friends for when they can't lend you a shoulder to lean on?" he asked making Conan blush harder if possible. "And I bet you would do the same for me, right Tantei-kun?"

"R-right," Conan said with a tiny smile. "I've got to go. See ya Kaito." And with that, Conan stalked off away from Kaito. The thief stood up and watched the shrunken detective leave with a smile on his face.

"And I thank you too Tantei-kun for everything you did for me, especially…" he trailed off slightly as his smile grew.

"For understanding... everything."
