"Wow this place is nice but why am I here and what is that jewel?" Kagome asked her mom. "That jewel is the Shikon no' Tama. As you know you come from a long line of mikos well the fist was Midoriko I believe I already told you about her so you know about the jewel. So all of or ancestors were the protectors of the jewel and now that you have become of age you will now be its protector. From now on you will wear that attire.
