Kagome shivered as she walked down the empty road just a few blocks away from her apartment in Tokyo, Japan. She had just left work at the local restaurant. She was fine on her own. That was, until someone bumped into her, slowly changing her life.
"Ow! Could you watch where you're going?!" The stranger grimaced in annoyance.
"Ah" Kagome winced in slight pain. "I'm sorry; I should have paid more attention." She bows twice hoping for forgiveness.
"Whatever. Just be more careful next time." The stranger bends to pick up his dropped things, making his dark ponytail flip over his shoulder. Kagome does the same.
"Sorry again. Goodbye," Kagome starts to walk in her homes direction. The stranger seemed to be following her. Why? She didn't really worry about it at first, but after about 10 minutes, she started to get nervous. Her eyes kept shifting to the person behind her. What should I do? She wondered as she was starting to breathe more heavily. Maybe if I just slow down. He should pass me. She slowed down and heard a grunt from the now creepy man.
"Seriously? If you're going to do that, can you not be right in front of me?" the man sounded annoyed.
"Why are you following me?" Kagome asked with shakiness in her voice.
The man laughed, "What makes you think I'm following you? Do you have a creeper complex or something?"
"N-no. I just thought you were following me. If you aren't, then what are you doing?" Kagome asked nervously.
"Going home. Not that it's any of your business, weirdo," he starts to walk ahead of her. Her apartment is only a few feet away. She feels embarrassed so she sprints the rest of the way, up to her door and turns to see where he is. He is shaking his head at the girl as he walks into his own apartment right next to her. How did she not know about her own neighbors! I'm such an idiot!
She sits, frustrated at herself and what the man said. He was making fun of her! She couldn't stand it. So much so, that she couldn't concentrate enough to study. She sighed and decided it would be best to just rest. It was Saturday, so she planned to just put it off until tomorrow.
She dazed off into a peaceful sleep.
Kagome groaned at the loud noises of the television coming from next door. He has got to be kidding me! Can't a girl get some peaceful sleep? What time is it anyways? She looks at the clock and it reads 7:45. Wow. I took a 2 hour nap. I didn't expect to sleep that much. Maybe that's why I was in such a bad mood. She shakes her head, "Never mind," It's because of the guy next door. She gets up, puts on her slippers and goes outside, forgetting a jacket because she would only be a minute or two.
BANG BANG BANG. She knocked on the door loudly. After a few seconds, she hears the tv turn off and and walking towards the door. It opens, showing a tired, shirtless guy yawning as he makes his way into the door frame. Kagome blushes slightly.
"Yeah?" He sounds like he just woke up.
"Uh, I was wondering if you could keep your television quieter," She says delicately.
"Oh, that's my bad. I must have rolled over on the remote," He lets out a barely audible chuckle and shivers. "It's pretty cold outside. Maybe you should go back inside. I'll keep it down," he says, surprising Kagome. He was so rude before.
"Okay. Goodnight" She starts to walk to her apartment and he shuts the door. She realizes she doesn't know his name so she checks the name tag on the door. Hmm. Inuyasha. That's a strange name. She goes inside and shuts the door. Maybe he isn't so rude after all. She thought as she fell back asleep.
