Summary : Junior year in college is hard enough, add in being a 17 year old boy genius and things start to get chaotic. Enter a mid-aged, yet handsome professor who just wants to find somebody to love and things can start being problematic. When you start to fall in love when you least expect it, the love is either welcomed or feared. Hotch x Reid pairing.
Prologue
Spencer Reid was a normal boy, wait let's change that. Spencer Reid was a boy genius who wanted nothing more than to be treated normal by his peers. It's hard being seventeen in college when all of your fellow classmates are around twenty-one. You can't go out to clubs with them, you can't legally drink with them, you can't even drive a car without being home by eleven. Not that his classmates wanted anything to do with him. To everybody else Spencer was an annoying know it all who always interrupted class, he would correct the professors and babble on about random facts that nobody cared about. He was weird and always got perfect grades no matter how much the teacher wanted to fail him just to get step ahead of him.

Aaron Hotchner was a criminology professor at New York University, more known as NYU. He did not fit in with the other professors since he was thirty-seven and most of the other professors were over the age of fifty. Being a professor at a college was not what Aaron always wanted to be, as a kid he would dream about being in the FBI catching bad guys. As you can tell life didn't work out they way he planned. By age twenty-two he had a girlfriend named Haley and the world at his fingertips, until that one fateful day when everything changed.
Aaron's class has just ended and was on his way to the library when his phone rung, he took it from his pocket and looked at the caller ID, Haley. He sighs and picks up the call, "What's up Haley? I was just heading to library, I thought I told you I couldn't hang today."
"It's really important! I need you to meet me at my dorm as soon as you can."
"I really need to study baby, can't you just tell me now?"
"Please just come, I need to tell you in private."
"Fine! I'll be there in ten."
That night changed everything, Haley confessed that she was three weeks pregnant and wanted to keep the baby. He was so confused, but stayed with her and held her while she cried.
Three months later Aaron proposed and Haley said yes, they would start planning the wedding soon. Not that he wanted to get married, he only proposed because everybody expected it of him. You knock a girl up and your expected to take care of her and the baby.
Now fifteen years later, he's divorced and fighting for custody of his son Jack. Life was not what he expected it to be.
