Shades of Sherlock

I do not own Sherlock in any way. If I did, Benedict Cumberbatch would be my personal high functioning sociopath.

John Watson was walking thru Hyde Park and found Sherlock sitting under a large tree. "Sherlock? Is that you?" John asked.

"What? A guy can't sit in a park in peace?" Sherlock snapped.

"Sorry", John said.

"I'm sorry", Sherlock said, "Do you remember when we first met and you said Harry was short for Harriet?"

"What about it?" John asked.

"I met a girl at school. Her name was Clarice. Of course, I just called her Reece, considering she hated her given name. She said she hated it, because it reminded her of the female reindeer in Rudolph. Oh how she hated that holiday movie", Sherlock said, "Anyway, she was the only person who my deductions didn't work on. I got everything wrong. So, when you said that, I was quite put off".

"Really?" John said.

"Yes", Sherlock said, "When I started school, I was known as Mycroft's little brother and a freak. All the girls fawned over Mycroft. She was the only one interested in me. I asked he out and she was my girlfriend until graduation. I never saw her after that".

"Wow", John said, "So why the snippy mood?"

"It would've been our anniversary today, had we stayed together", Sherlock said, "She used to call me Sher-bear. Not creative at all, but I let her call me it anyway".

"Well, I'm going home. You coming?" John asked.

"No. I'm going to stay a while longer", Sherlock said.

John woke up to the sound of crashes and bangs coming from the kitchen area. He loaded his gun and made his way into the kitchen. He found a girl cooking.

She turned around and said, "You're not my Sher-bear…"

John lowered his gun and said, "No, I'm Dr. John Watson. I'm Sherlock's flat mate".

Sherlock woke up to the smell of bacon.

It couldn't be John, because he was under the impression that John couldn't cook.

He got up and slipped on a robe. Sherlock found his way into the kitchen. He heard John's voice and another voice.

A woman's laughing.

Sherlock stopped in his tracks when he saw her. "Reece?" he asked, his voice cracking.

"Hey Sher-bear", she said.

Sherlock bounded across the kitchen and grabbed her head in his hands. He placed his lips on hers.

"Good to see you too", Reece said.

"Oh Reece. How I've missed you", he said.

"Breakfast?" Reece asked.

"I'd rather stand here with you in my arms all day", Sherlock said.

"We'll have plenty of time for that later Sherlock", Reece told him.

"How did you get in?" John asked.

"Key I found under the mat", she told him, "I'm sorry I'm a day late".

"I don't care", Sherlock said, "You're here now".
