Zim s Final Hour Zim ran, with Dib close behind. Zim sprinted, desperate for Dib to let him go. Zim looked back, and his panicking heart went into overdrive, but Zim wasn t about to give up, yet. With Dib less than five feet away, Zim made a desperate dash, right into a dead- end ally. Dib came up behind Zim, who at the time was trying to climb the fence at the end of the ally in vain. Zim accepted his fate, yet he still tried to flatten himself against the gate, scared for his life. Night, Night, Zim, Dib said, stabbing Zim in the chest with the knife he had in his back pocket. Zim let loose a bloodcurdling scream, then slumped to the ground, his PAK slowly fading.
Gaz heard Zim s scream from her house five miles away. Her GameSlave 2 dropped to the floor as she ran out of the house. She hopped on her motorcycle and roared off in the direction of the scream, hoping she wasn t too late.
Zim could hardly see a thing by the time Gaz pulled up at the end of the ally. Gaz jumped off the motorcycle, and ran to Zim. Zim felt his head being lifted into someone s lap, and he looked up. When he saw Gaz s worried face looking down at him, he smiled weakly. Gaz, go find Dib and kill him, using any means necessary. With Zim s final breath, he reached up and clutched Gaz s shirt. Gaz felt his grip loosen, and she started wailing. Zim s unseeing eyes were open, and Gaz kissed his PAK gently. Gaz took two fingers and gently closed Zim s eyelids, tears pouring down her face as she did so.
Dib had run off, fearing that Zim had somehow managed to survive having been stabbed and was chasing him. Dib looked over his shoulder, and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Zim wasn t chasing him. His relief was short lived, because he heard Gaz scream in blind fury. Dib knew Gaz would be pissed when she found out what he did. He was right.
Gaz screamed in anger, making a vow to avenge Zim s death any way necessary. Gaz heard heavy breathing behind her, and when she turned on her heel she saw Dib standing there, out of breath and scared to death, realizing that Gaz knew he had killed her boyfriend. I m sorry, Gaz. Got to run! Dib said, trying to run past Gaz, only to have Gaz stick her arm out, catching his neck and causing him to fall. Gaz pulled him up by his shirt collar, and she lifted him above her head. If you were sorry, you would go kill yourself. But that won t Bring my Zimmy back. Dib gulped. Look Gaz, I said I was Gaz cut him off with a slap to the face. That doesn t even matter to me, Dib. My boyfriend is dead, thanks to you, so nothing matters to me anymore. Only your death. Gaz said, kicking Dib in the shin. Now get out of my face. You make me sick! Gaz said, watching Dib try to run, only to trip over and over again. End of part one
