Cobb looked at the picture of his kids in dismay. He had finally gotten back to them 2 months ago, and then he'd had to come back.
The team had tried the job without him, but had struggled greatly and Ariadne and Arthur had almost been killed in an explosion in reality instead of a dream this time.
The mark had figured out what they were trying to do and had attempted to remove the problem.
Cobb remembered walking into the warehouse and seeing Ariadne with a cut across her cheek. Then Arthur had walked in and he had stared in shock at his best friend. His had a cut from the left side of his forehead down to his jaw and there were some deep and some shallow cuts on his arms.
It was then that he swore to himself, that even though his kids needed him, his team needed him too and he would come running whenever they desperately needed help with a job. There was a chance that Arthur would end up with some faint scarring from the deep cuts, as he had shielded most of Ariadne during the explosion.
Cobb looked up and at his team. Ariadne was working on the layouts, trying to fix out some flaws. Saito and Yusuf were looking at the different sedative compounds and trying to decide which would be best. Arthur, though part of his hands were wrapped in bandages after the shrapnel had cut into them, was typing on the computer, trying to put the information on the mark in order. Eames was hanging over his shoulder, trying to convince the point man to take a break and let him type as he could open the wounds on his hands again if he strained them too much.
Cobb grinned at the childish banter being thrown between them and decided that no matter where he was, he was home.
This team was his family, and he'd be damned if he didn't help them when they needed it.
