A/N 4/9/10: A poem for the great god Amaterasu, mother and origin of all that is good.
~Warmth from the Sun~
~A burning gaze,
An inner fire sparks.
"Anger me not."
Yes, a fair warning.
-
A gentle goddess
A benevolent deity
Unless her children
Are ever harmed.
-
Soft white fur,
Tendrils of light
Seeking out evil,
Purifying with might.
-
The dawn of the day,
Her bright rebirth.
Sakuya trembles,
As does the earth.
-
A disk of flames,
A wolfen cry.
The goddess is back.
She can never die.
-
Crimson marks.
A blackened tail.
Her ink pot boils
As demons flail.
-
She cuts and slashes,
Bombs and burns.
All to save
Our tiny world.
-
Serpents and foxes,
Owls and disease
Stand no chance,
Though they slay the queen.
-
She fights on,
Braving the odds,
On ships and dragons,
Flowers and logs.
-
No matter the danger,
The thrill, the chance,
Our great god Amaterasu
Will never step back.
-
She'll fight to the end,
Through time and space,
On the moon and the stars,
And Celestial Plains.
-
Oh, great Amaterasu,
Mother and Origin of all that is,
Stand by our sides,
Guide our way;
Light the path
From this dark place.~
