Ring! Ring! Ring!
Mary groaned as she rolled away from her bed companion, reaching for her cell phone she squinted one eye open to see who the caller was, Delia.
"This better be an emergency!" she growled as low as she could not to disturb him.
"Has he called you? Do you know why they broke up?" Delia questioned in rapid succession.
Mary rolled her eyes and shook her head, "No I haven't called him. If he wants to talk he has my number. And since when are you so concerned with his love life? Don't you have a life? It's Saturday for God's sake."
"Mary, I don't know why you can't just pick up a phone and ask him. He was ready to get married, we all saw all the planning he was doing while becoming the Chief. The least we can do is be there for him and before you ask, it's because we care if he's doing okay or not," the younger woman sighed heavily after a long speech.
"Just let him be, I'm sure when he's rea-" she stopped talking as a hand caressed her hip letting her know her companion was awake. "…uh, ready. He can call any one of us and give us the juicy details. Good bye inspector."
She hung up, tossed the cell on her bedside table before rolling around until she was laying on top of him, "Good morning Doofus."
Marshall smiled and pulled her lower torso on top of him, his grin grew wide when he felt her naked flesh against his, "Good morning Sunshine."
"I guess you heard that?" she sobered as she lay her on his chest.
"Yeah" his hands roamed her lower backside cupping it with big large hands.
"What are we going to do?" she leaned over to place a kiss on his lips.
He took the kiss deeper, pulling her higher up until she was straddling his hips.
"We are going to take it one day at a time, and pray for the best," he ran his fingers through her hair looking deep into her green eyes.
Mary smirked and arched her eyebrow, "Where did my by-the-book-plan-everything-within-minutes-partner become so spontaneous?"
"It's taken us this long to get here, I'm not giving you up that easily," he said soberly.
She kissed him hard and fast and held on as he rolled them, she wrapped her legs around him and let him take her for the ride of her life.
