Dr. Temperance Brennan who is often called Bones by her partner was coming back. It had been more than three months since she had seen anyone.
They finally had Christopher Pelant confess everything. Apparently, FBI Special Agent Hayes Flynn was on their side the whole time.
Flynn had caught on what was going on and knew that he would have to placate Pelant in order to get the truth out of him. Everyone was too close to Brennan for them to see the truth. Flynn's superior had told FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth why assigned.
It was a sigh of relief to Booth as well as the rest of Bones's friends from the Jeffersonian, but for Booth, there was nothing more that he wants than to have Bones and their daughter, Christine, back in his arms again where they belong. He was about to get his wish. His superior had just informed him that Bones was on her way home.
Upon hearing that news, Booth left his superior's office and drove straight home. He waited for almost a half hour before he saw the car she was driving. He knew instinctively that she had taken very good care of their daughter.
Bones saw Booth before she got out of the car and fetched their daughter from the back seat. She saw the relief in his eyes when her eyes met his, but she could see the worry and the strain she had caused him for the past few months.
Booth met her half-way and enveloped both in his arms. "Welcome home" was all he could say because all of his emotions where in his throat and that was the only thing that could get past them.
